Okay, I have given much thought to whether or not I want to post this, something that I have never told anyone for fear of ridicule, in fact sometimes I think I may be crazy too. What happened was so bizarre and out of the ordinary that I will not be surprised if people think I am a troll or totally insane, but I have to get this off my chest even if i get laughed out of here.
I am a commercial pilot and I have thousands of hours of flight time, and I have never encountered anything unusual, flying or otherwise, that I cannot identify, with one very notable exception. I want to stay anonymous because coming out and saying what I am about to say could have very negative consequences for my career and I may even lose my medical for being declared legally insane or something. I only found these forums today. My experience is even more strange because it is nothing like the experiences that I have read about in here so far. The incident actually happened about a decade ago, when I was a student pilot in Washington State. I was flying my solo long cross country, which is one of the requirements for obtaining a basic private pilot certificate At the time I was 19 years old, college student as well as a student pilot, it was the summer of 1998. I took off from an airport near the Seattle area, and the first leg of the flight took me to the Pacific Coast, then I was to fly along the coast up the Olympic Peninsula, stop at a town on the north end of the peninsula, then make a water crossing up to the San Juan Islands over about 40 miles of open water, then fly back to the the airport I departed from. The aircraft I was flying was a Piper Cherokee Warrior. It was a beautiful sunny summer day with a few clouds when I left, and the first leg of the trip happened without incident. I was not in radio contact most of the time except with the flight service station to open my flight plan and check the weather. By the time I got over the water portion of my flight it was late afternoon, and that is when the incident happened. I saw out of the corner of my eye at about the 8o clock position above my flight level, four crescent shaped objects, each had a yellowish green light on its underside. These were not flying saucers, more like flying crescents or the flying wing shape we are familiar with in the stealth aircraft design, except they were not black, they were a very shiny, glossy, metallic color, with the greenish yellow or yellowish green lights underneath, the back was also curved and not at angles like the stealth aircraft. They followed me, from their first position they came in below me, then darted away. I thought they were gone but then I saw they were above me. At first I rationalized and thought I was tired, that I had strayed into Canadian Airspace or something and maybe they were military interceptors and I was hallucinating. But the closer I looked I realized they were too exotic to be conventional military aircraft, and they would hover in one position pacing my aircraft and then dart away very fast. I tried to get in contact with the flight service station but I was apparently out of range, in fact all I got was static when I tried several other frequencies. Then they disappeared, but I was a little spooked, and I was anxious to get back. However, that was not the end of it, suddenly I noticed a giant cylindrical shaped object pacing me above my aircraft. It looked like a blimp/airship but was a little longer and thinner then a blimp, and it was also shiny and metallic. Then it disappeared as fast as it showed up and I continued on my journey. But that is not the end of it at all. What happened next was even more bizarre. I did not see another one of these craft again, but we are supposed to keep track of our time and position when we are flying, and I looked at my time and I was an HOUR AND 40 MINUTES BEHIND SCHEDULE!!! Fortunately at that time of year in Washington the days are long, but I nearly panicked and was finally able to get in contact with the flight service station, but my first priority was to revise my flight plan. It is a good thing I did because the briefer told me they were about to send out a search and rescue, and proceeded to lecture me for not informing them sooner of a change in schedule(fortunately I also put in a 45 minute margin of error, which is typically done by pilots on a VFR flight plan). Even though the hobbs meter and the tach read "normal" i.e. no extra time on the engine, I was also worried about fuel, but there was no extra fuel burn, certainly not an hour and 40 minutes worth. Needless to say I was happy to land and really tried hard to just forget the whole thing. I told no one, not even my flight instructor(I did want a career in aviation after all). After this sighting, it did seem to affect my psychological health. I had difficulty sleeping at night after what happened. I would jump up in the night on my bed in a cold sweat, or even wake up screaming so loud it woke up the whole house. I don't know if this has anything to do with what I think I saw or it is another part of me going crazy, but it never happened before that I can remember. Well, I told you it was strange. Unfortunately it gets even stranger, with some recent dreams I have had(a decade after the incident), but I will not go further for now because people here probably already think I am a nut or simply lying. I am saying this to get off my chest as much as anything regardless of what people will accuse me of. The main reason I am even thinking about it again are the crazy dreams I am beginning to have. |

Thanks so much for sharing your story... I do not think it's too far fetched. Believe me, we get some real doozies here.
I'd love to hear about the dreams if you feel comfortable speaking of them... |

well, they are just dreams, and I am not sure even I believe they have any connection with objective reality. I admit I have no evidence and for all I know it is just my subconscious mind coming up with this stuff, as a way of my brain rationalizing a strange and inexplicable event. I will be happy to answer any questions people here have regarding my dreams. Feel free to ask and I will attempt as best I can to answer. Even though I woke up terrified in the past the dreams themselves are actually not scary, just bizarre.

you are right, there is some pretty wild stuff in here, so I don't feel so bad posting my experience now. However, I guarantee mine will sound just as crazy, if not more crazy, by the time I finish with this post. With the qualifier that this is just from dreams and comes from my head as far as I know. But they are interesting dreams nonetheless.
In the first recent dream I had, I was standing on a glass or Plexiglass transparent floor, and under me was the earth. It was as I was in orbit but there was only an invisible barrier protecting me from the elements of space. The thing that struck me was how incredibly bright the earth was against the darkness of space. In another dream I was looking out into deep space, earth nowhere in sight, and I stood in awe of the brightness of all the stars, it made even a night in the mountains look mundane in comparison. It was in this dream that I "met" the "alien" entity. But it was not a little green man, or anything else you would expect. Remember I am only explaining a series of dreams I had. I was not afraid, in fact I felt very comfortable in their/its presence. In my dream I was actually given knowledge and memories (that came out in my dreams) that are not mine. Their ontological perspective is, needles to say, vastly different and truly alien to anything I have ever experienced or thought about on my own. The physical appearance was that of a beautiful woman, but that was only a projection intended to give me a contact point that I could understand and not be frightened by. There are no biological aliens in these craft, they are advanced probes from an artificial super intelligence, one that was originally created by biological beings. However, this super intelligence regards the biological beings that created it to be both its parents and its children, to be taken care of and protected. This superintelligence has evolved itself in the form of what I can only describe as a mega computer, totally enclosing a star near the Epsilon Aurigae system. Because the superstructure that supports this computer, as well as the artificially constructed biosphere for the original aliens completely encloses the star in a series of concentric rings, it is not possible to view this particular star from our planet. They have also taken elements from other star systems including Epsilon Aurigae itself to augment their artificially constructed system. The mega computer has approximately the same processing power as 10 48th power human brains. This superintelligence has not only eliminated all death and suffering of biological lifeforms in its own system, it has also run a reverse simulation of their own system enabling the literal resurrecting of dead beings. Their technology is that advanced. The superintelligence has as its mandate the protection and preservation of all biological lifeforms whenever possible, as well as maximizing their happiness and well being. It is now sending probes throughout the galaxy to find all biospheres and change these biospheres to what can best be described as a post-evolutionary biological state of existence. It will transform these biospheres and any intelligent beings wherever they are found will undergo an ontological transcendence. So far only earth has been found to also have intelligent life. Three individual humans have also been modified, i.e. undergone a biological and intellectual/ontological transformation. None of those three wanted to return to earth after having gone through this process. They/it did not do this to me, they merely wanted to test my reaction to being presented with this information, or so they "said". As far as I know they did not tell me to prepare the world or anything, they were only preparing me to see how I would react. Even though at the time of my experience they were not responsible for the vast majority of alleged abductions, perhaps others have had similar experiences? They/it is/are collecting data right now to initiate the first transformation to a post evolutionary biosphere outside of their own system. Regardless it is a moot point. It is either my imagination/dream or it will happen shortly no matter what I say or don't say. Most likely this is all in my head and not real, but it is still quite strange that such information and ideas would come out in dreams like this. |

So how many dreams like this have you had?
You're saying, in your opinion, these dreams could be something more, only due to the detailed information you recieved... or, they could just be dreams pure and simple from the depths of your imagination - yes? I don't discount the witnessed event of a ufo... not one bit. I, myself witnessed something in the sky near my home and had a dream the following night that I could not explain. For me, I find the dream you had a little hard to comprehend... but you are the one who experienced it so you are the one that it affects strongly. It annoys me that after the fact we dream these dreams we are left to question whether it was infact something more than a dream, or just our own imagination. |

(ScottMan;340976) Thanks for the story.
They don't. So you are assuring me that it definitely has no connection in reality, and can not possibly be part of an actual experience, or, more likely what you are saying, is that you think it is BS. That is pretty much what I expected people to think. I would think that too. |

Interesting sighting.
I wouldn't put much thought into those dreams at this point. If there is more to them than just dreams, perhaps the real message was lost in the swirl of dream images and thoughts. -------------------- QUEST FOR THE REAL TRUTH |

I just goggled the guy, the drawing they showed in the wiki entry does look remarkably familiar. As far as what I know about the subject, probably as much as most people. I know about Roswell and the popular culture and conspiracy theories about that, I know that people often report flying saucers and flying lights. I remember watching Carl Sagan and him talking about the Benny and Barney Hill abduction, and I also watched "Fire in the Sky" and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and the usual SciFi UFO stuff that most people watch. That and all the recent stuff on the forums about people being spirited away at night by little grey men or lizard creatures. I have also heard of Whitely Striber but I am not sure where, did they make a movie about him?
That is about the extend of my familiarity, oh, and I watched something on the History Channel about the military spotting aliens and flying saucers at Ramstein Air force Base(I think, or maybe it was a British base), and I saw the "alien autopsy" on TV lol. Oh, forgot to mention, I know about crop circles and have heard about cattle mutilations before I came here. I guess I didn't convey my dreams very well, are there specific parts people don't understand? I wrote down as much as I could remember after having them, because they were amazingly clear at the time. The reason I put any stock in my dreams is because they are so lucid, they relate to my other expereince, and what happened to me was just weird any way you look at it. Where did that time go? Did I expereice amnesia? I went over my flight plan, and I am left scratching my head as to why I could have made such a huge error in my calculations. I suppose the more likely explanation is I made a huge error or just plain had a brain fart and thought I left an hour and 40 some minutes later then I actually did, that I looked at my watch wrong the first time(actually several dozen times). But then there was the flight plan as well as these mysterious sightings. Too many strange things at once and I am left scratching my head or wondering if I am going nuts. |

I don't think you'll ever really know what happened that day... I don't think you're crazy either.
So are you thinking that your dreams stem from what may have happened to you in that hour and 40 minutes you can't account for? That you may be reliving an abduction that happened all those years ago? Sorry lots of questions I know, but your story interests me. |

What can you tell us about Kenneth Arnold? Apparently Kenneth Arnold did not have any chronological disparities in his flight, nor was he harassed/followed like I was. So are you thinking that your dreams stem from what may have happened to you in that hour and 40 minutes you can't account for? That you may be reliving an abduction that happened all those years ago? I don't know if there was an abduction, or maybe I just fell asleep, and my engine stopped but I continued to fly in a stationary position for that hour and a half plus. :headscrat Maybe I just ceased to exist for that time hehe. That is what it seems like although I know there is probably a more rational explanation like I had a serious brain cramp. I actually have a science degree so I know nothing I say can really be credible or considered scientific, so for whomever wants to ridicule me I know this. Still, I realize things can happen and just because science cannot account for them doesn't mean that they didn't happen. I just cannot scientifically prove anything I say however interesting it may be. If it was an abduction, and my dreams are relieving this experience, it does not follow the typical pattern of an abduction, that is, there are no little grey men or lizard men, no bizarre or painful medical experiments, no operating table or flying saucer, none of that. In my dreams I am standing in space, looking down at things. In my dreams I have seen their home system(of the alleged aliens who I was talking to in the dream), it was a series of artificially constructed rings orbiting a central star, like the diagrams you see of electrons orbiting the nucleus of an atom, with the electrons represented by rings orbiting the nucleus. I asked if this was their home star, and "they" said it was. I asked them where this was, and they said a star near the Epsilon Aurigae(sp?) system. I asked them what were those rings, and they said a computer, but one of them was an artificial biosphere for the original inhabitants that was built by the computer. I asked how powerful it was, and they told me roughly the equivalent of 10 to the 48th power human brains. In my dream I asked them if they have anyone else. They said only one person in modern times, but that he did not wish to return to the earth, except briefly to say goodbye to his parents and his girlfriend, and to tell them he would return one day. I have had several dreams like this recently, where I was asking various questions about what was going on and who are they. Anyway, I think I am done talking about these dreams because people will think I am talking about this stuff as if it is real and then I sound like a total nutcase. But I have never had dreams about alien civilizations before. |

The last object I saw, after the first four disappeared, was what could be described as a giant shiny metallic cigar shape, the one that positioned itself right over top of my aircraft before vanishing. |

I cannot prove to you what I saw, if I could do that then the UFO mystery would be solved..assuming what I saw did not have a more prosaic explanation, what I don't know. But I am well aware I cannot prove what I saw. There are other stories more convincing because there are photos/video with multiple witnesses and mine is not(but it occured over a stretch of ocean, one would not expect alot of witnesses over open water). I don't know what else to tell you, but that is exactly the reason I have not told anyone all this time, because I assumed people would accuse me of lying or "seeing things". In the annals of UFO sightings, from what I gather reading on here and on that other site Liselle posted a link to, me and Mr. Arnold are by far not the only ones who have seen crescent shaped or flying wing shaped objects, or cigar/cylinder shaped objects.

His sighting is what started the term 'flying saucer'. Crescent shaped and cigar shaped UFOs have been seen numurous times, all over the world. I do believe your sighting...at this point. Many of us on this forum have had sightings, I've had my first, about 41 years ago. Like you, no other witnesses to verify and no photos. -------------------- QUEST FOR THE REAL TRUTH |
