I saw the Earth after People on History Channel very interesting how within 1000 years mans achievements will be pretty much gone I believe they said the pyramids will survive but be buried under sand and Hoover dam will be one of the last to go in the great collapses around 10,000 yrs from whenever wed leave. I wonder if our plastics especially underground would survive like roman pottery.

I watched that also. Was amazing to me how domestic animals went back tothere true nature to survive. I guess my hubby was right after all. We had a discussion and I said they would die with out us if for some reason we had to leave them behind. Nature and animals will survive , that I am happy about. The whole show was an eye opener for me.

I liked it, but it's like my dad said "We already know that once we vanish nature is going to reclaim Earth for sure".

I'm just amazed that it'll take so long. I liked watching the bridges collapse and stuff collapsing during the "Great collapsing".

This is what I'd envision any future life on the planet Earth that's became sentient: "Sir, we found some bodies of humans! It appears they... crawled into boxes and died... Weird..."

But, I suppose we should have guessed that eventually everything that man has built will be destroyed by nature. Nature always reclaims everything when you stop fighting back. If we learned to live side-by side it and used nature in technology, things after humans would be different in the show.

Still, it was good. I found it interesting on how long it'd take some of the stuff to go away.

But there are some things that would still remain.
Certain metals & alloys, composits and ceramics, etc.. And not to mention the things left elsewhere...the Moon, Mars, etc.

Eventually those will go away even though. If an asteroid hits the moon where we left a mark there, it'll be gone. Eventually our stuff on Mars will vanish slowly. Eventually all things erode away, nothing is forever. Although radio waves from Earth will eventually get picked up by some civilization someday perhaps.

That would have been an interesting doco, Thanks for the post! Makes you wonder doesnt it, if tens or hundreds of thousands of years later if another species evolved would they even know we existed? If tey did i guess they would see us as a destructive parasitical force, but would they know the good things, like our culture, art, creation? who knows
