States:
Matter cannot be created or destroyed, only converted into different states. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only converted into different states. So what is the mind matter or energy? Is it either, and is it governed by the same rules as matter and energy? |

The mind is 100% energy. It is bound by all laws of energy. |

Is it either, and is it governed by the same rules as matter and energy? Science cannot really explain the presence of the mind. It is does not conform to the physical definition of energy (the ability to perform work), which is a quantity that is merely a function of physical variables. Certainly work is done as the brain functions, but to say that the mind is energy is a simplistic statement that does not explain anything. How can the mind and energy be equated? Only if you adopt a definition of energy that diverges from the scientific one; one that is overbroad and vague in its meaning. |

I wish I had realised that a few threads ago, would have been a good point to make in another debate

(Andrew;347048) ...It is(the mind) does not conform to the physical definition of energy .... Lol, and this post comes right after my post that it is energy. That is just funny and characteristic of me. The guy that says wild and unfounded things.

When you equate ‘mind’ with ‘cerebral activity, then we may obtain a biophysical measure with the EEG. For instance, brain death occurs when electrocortical silence is observed.
When you equate ‘mind’ with the Latin anima, or the Indo-Iranian urunaêca, urvâ, Indo-European *an(ə), *sai, *Hdhm-, Sanskrit ātman, manas, Egyptian sāḥ, ba, iū‛, šu, the Greek psyche, the Sumerian har (and/or its metaphysical equivalents zi, bar), the Hebrew נשמה or נפש, then we’ve gone beyond the realms or Science, and you get allisonical silence Well, I will have to concur with Andrew on that one... -------------------- ![]() |
