For the past few weeks I've really made a study of the growing renewable energy industries around the world... I was horrified to realize that the ole' US is decades behind almost every other major nation as far as utelizing renewable energy resources.

So, I put together a business plan for a renewable energy company last week and sent it around to all the people I know. I figured what the heck! Nobody else seems to be doing much of anything in the private sector to fix this problem, and the power companies' efforts, while well intended, are lackluster at best.

Low and Behold! I have a meeting this week with a few prospective investors... wish me luck!

So my adivce to any people looking to start a renewable energy business of their own, who have a 'good' idea, go 4 it! Write the business plan and send it around. Rich people & investment firms are looking for these types of start ups. It makes them feel like they are doing something good for the country and for the planet. It will make you feel that way too, which doesn't suck.

There are so many new inexpensive technologies for solar, biomass, wind & hydro energies around, it's a no brainer. I chose to persue the natural gas from biomass (manure) thing because where I live is the largest producer of biomass waste in the country. I.E. We've got a sh*tload of biomass and nothing to do with it.

Anyway, it's something to look into. I'll let ya know how it goes.

The problem is, renewable energy makes fewer people money, not much incentive for big industry to get into it. Good luck on getting a company going though.

I have an idea of why we havent progressed in that branch, i have heard of the small guys trying to start to get a renewable energy sources, but they get threatened by people who are making money with the way it is, since it would be very bad for the business.
