I was taking a walk in the back bay today and looked up to see some metallic object. It sort of looked like an trapezoid.. It was metallic - the sun would shine light off of it every now and then making it stand out.

There was a ball or something underneath it as well.

Weird thing is, no hot air balloons fly around this area 'cause I live near an airport.

The object had another same sized thing underneath it.. Sort of like a ball.

Any ideas as to what this could have been? I watched it for 2 minutes then looked up again to see it gone.

Also, they two objects were the same size except the top was metallic.

I thought it was a science thing at first but I watched it for a few minutes. There's no way it was a balloon carrying people.. The top was too small - the same as the bottom.

Looked something like this:

Besides... I live near a very populated airport. Planes fly over my house all the time. NEVER seen it around before.. And it flew at the same level some small jets fly at.

What is your best estimation for distance from you?
Was it over cast?
Was there a wind? What direction?
What direction did it appear to move in?
Did the balloon or ball have any color to it?

I am not trying to annoy you, but these answers would help greatly.

It could of been some kids prank.

weather balloons are unmanned and can be quite small. They carry instruments to get information on temperature and atmospheric conditions. The ball underneath might be the sensors.

How do we ever believe anyone about what they see. There seems to be so many people well on each side of the fence, but almost no one close to the fense but not on it. What I mean is this. For any given UFO report, there seems always to be the opinion that it had to be swamp gas, Venus or a weather balloon, or on the other side, it was obviously an alien space craft from the planet Zorg, preparing for the 2012 invasion.
There seems to be almost no one that says, well hell, that one is a bit weird, maybe it was a UFO. I ahve a friend with a UFO story so amazing, he wont tell anyone about it. He did initially, then copped so much grief that he does not anymore. In my mind, his story leaves very little doubt as to what it was.
But I bet if I tell it, it will be called swamp gas smile.gif So it makes people reluctant to tell because it is never believed. I guess what I am saying is why does a lack of explanation always mean it is swamp gas. If something looks like a flying craft, behaves in a manner impossible for us on earth, why do people always say well it can't be a UFO so it must be ....a wether balloon.

I didn't say it wasn't a UFO Dundee, just like i never said it was swamp gas, or a weather balloon, i said it ''could it be''....

1) What time of day was it? Around 6:00 PM

2) What angle was it, up from the horizon. (Straight up is 90 degrees. Halfway up is 45.) I'd say about.. I'd say around 65-70.

3) If you held your hand up at arm's length, how big would it be, compared to your hand or finger? The size of a flea.

4) Was it darker than the sky or lighter? Darker.

5) Which airport are you near? Did you call them? John Wayne in OC - no, didn't call them.

6) How fast did it seem to move, compared to an airplane? VERY SLOW.

7) Did it appear to make its own light or was it reflected? The light from the sun reflected the metallic parts of it.
