In case you guys didn't see, 'new' Phoenix lights have appeared. Here's a video of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz0b2uFYPZs
Pretty cool to see that they're back and I can't imagine the politicians using the flare excuse on this one. |

I was reading about this over on ATS yesterday it looks pretty cool whatever it is some people were suggesting paper lanterns tied together but im not sure what made this a bit more intriguing was over a week ago a guy posted on ATS that if people believed and looked up to the skies ( i know what your thinking lol ) there would be a mass ufo flypast on the night of April 22 seems this one showed up a night early lol

there was a similar case here in essex england, where up to 12 orange or red lights were spotted by numerous people, and it was even on local radio.it turned out they were chinese lanterns released from a restruant during a family celebration.they reach quite an altitude before the candle burns out or runs out of oxygen.the flicker seen gives some weight to that.the one unusaul aspect i would like to point out,is that one moved slightly quicker than the rest, maybe it caught a thermal.but i do think there is a natural explantaion.

Could be lanterns. The only problem I have with the lantern thing is their motions. They move in such a way as to produce an orchestrated pattern. Even if they were tied together I would think their motions would be a little more random.
They could be anything, so that only makes the interesting at this point. |

I agree with bart5050. I was going to go with the lantern theory as well but they seem too organized.

Laaaame. I guess they still could be if you wanted to get into all that conspiracy stuff. I got the impression they were much bigger than flares, but of course there's nothing in the videos to use as a size guide. I wonder how he kept the heat of the flares from burning through the fishing line or popping the balloons.

Hmmm. Interesting. I would not have considered hanging them from a helium ballon.
Of course, if anyone wanting to make the news could claim responsibility. It would explain the lights going out one by one. One should calculate the total elapse time from when the first light went out to the actual burning duration of a road flare, to get an idea if they are close or not. Does anyone know how long a road flare burns? |

Would the flare not burn through the fishing line.. the newsguy had a flare and balloon.. why
did he stop short of demonstrating how it was done.. seems a bit daft not to show.. and why would the mystery guy say that balloons and flares were used in the original phoenix lights when the military says it was them... sounds a bit fishy to me.. |

the two cases are different, the only relation is ,'lights' in 'pheonix'.also in the first case there are many more witnesses and pictures.i think this is a hoax.
