I recently bought a new camera and was playing around with the settings. It was a clear night and what better to take a photo of then the moon. I took a few photos and didnt really pay attention to ones that obviously had problems but later was checking the image information for exposure time etc when i noticed an object in the photo and would like to get opinions on what it may be.

The object in question is up and to the right of the blurred moon, not the green moon as im sure there is a explanation for that, but the object that looks like some type of mechanical thing. I thought well maybe ti was the space station but I checked NASA's site and according to their chart, the space station was not supposed to be visible for residents of central Missouri during the time the photo was taken.

you can save the photo and check the exif image information for exact time and camera settings.

this photo has not been altered in anyway other than putting my copyright information on it.

Interesting. Looks a little like pixs I have taken of space station. But from your info that aint it. Definatly artificial structure and too big to be a satelite. Could be anything. Maybe its part of the star wars secret,

Its nothing, it a light artifact, the same as if you move a sparkler through the air and it leaves a trail of light, this is probably a star, if you look to the left you will see the exact same image....

I wont disagree with you one bit, and I obviosuly thought about it being somethign explainable but with the image being so "focused" so to say and leaving a faint repeated type image as well, it got me wondering what was going on. The exposure was 2 seconds and i used the support beam on my porch to steady the shot and iots obvious the shot wasnt steady as the photo clearly shows but when this other object appeared so clear, i went "hmm"

I do not see any camera shake of the moon image and there is a star on the left with only one pixel. I could not find a duplicate object on left either. While it is difficult to say what lights are in the dark, I have taken enough to recognize structure. As to what the structure is, impossible to say. Could be anything. Even a very high aircraft.

Even if you could rule out aircraft, still it is impossible say what it is. Object could be lighted or merly reflective, but at this point it is just an interesting object. Cannot even say its a UFO in the classic sense. Could be just about anything.
