Ok. Its been a long time since posting here but I wanted to hear from yall about this young champ.
I knew after his 2nd gold medal he was on track for solid gold. He broke many WR in his personal comps and the relay team aswel. My first thought was he's on something. Tho, we all know they test after every race and every medal so the chances of that are nill. 50.58 sec for a 100 Butterfly OMG! Serbian, Milorad Cavic (100 Butterfly 50.59) is a good swimmer but human choice pervades any length of time even if its infitismal incerment. Poor guy I give him two thumbs up. "Ironically, Cavic is experienced at swim-meet protests. In March, he was ejected from the European swim championships in the Netherlands for wearing a T-shirt that said in Cyrillic, "Kosovo is Serbia," a reference to Kosovo's controversial declaration of independence from Serbia in February." SOURCE: http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/beijing...ives/146317.asp Oh well life goes on and I have work to look forward to. Why is it that we(sport fanatics) look to people who can do things better than we could ever do in our lifetime? Are we are trying to experience what it might be like...are we trying to come to terms with our own delt cards by enjoying other delt cards. These questions plauge me everytime I get into watching sports on the tube and print. M. Phelps, is by far my new American hero. Not because he beat Spitz's record...or because he broke almost evey WR in his personal races. It's the fact that he sustained even in the many faces of negativity. It's the fact that he has managed to find an outlet to his ADD with positive benifits. It's the fact that even tho he wasn't the greatest student in school he has shown young people (especialy in the States) one of the greatest gifts. The gift of Dream Big! peace, Austin PS. Crap, I totaly put this in the wrong catagory and I should have not started a new thread....see this is what you shouldn't do newbies. If an admin has time could you join it up with the other thread http://www.alien-ufos.com/Lets-hear-Michae...lps-t22056.html This post has been edited by Galvacon: Aug 18 2008, 09:07 PM |

yeah this dude is awesome. normally im not all into hero worship type stuff but he deserves the accolades. Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah! way to go kid. this will be something happening in my life-time that i'll remember til my last days... right along with 9/11, the Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy, seeing Haley's Comet, the Berlin Wall falling... its been a looooong time since the world has seen an athlete of this caliber, if there has ever been one. maybe he can only swim. but he does it better than anyone else ever has. times eight. I also noticed the on 8-8-08 Phelps recieved his 8th medal!
Bill Russell NBA Champ won 8 staight titles from 59'-66' In retro spec...M. Jordan only got 3 winning streaks. [This is only one man’s opinion (and a fairly skewed one given my basketball junkie status), but who do you guys feel had the greater accomplishment in the history of sport, Michael Phelps 8 golds in a single Olympic Games, or Bill Russell’s 8 straight NBA titles?] Source: http://thehoopdoctors.com/online/?p=137 Is Phelps an athlete, professional swimmer, or professional champ? Personaly I think he is just an accomplished athlete who now has the burdan of upholding his character. peace, Austin |
