Today I spent my entire morning & afternoon at the local planetarium. I got to see this virtual documentary called Is Anybody Out There?. It was interesting, but the way you watched the documentary was weird. The screen was the roof, so for the entire time you leaned back on a seat to watch it. Anyways, it was all about life. Life on Earth, other planets, even other galaxies. It talked about EVERYTHING to do with life and the weird life microbes that nobody notices here on Earth. But these microbes are everywhere. The film talked about when Earth was created and how life appeared here. It claims that there were people from other planets, with technology like we have today who sent people on Earth billions & billions & billions of years ago to get life started here. It was VERY interesting and it got me thinking. What makes all of us normal? Who's to say there isn't unknown life forms who think we're aliens? What if other species of life are sending these UFO's to Earth because they found us? If we found life on other planets, you can EXPECT NASA to be sending more and more and more robots to which ever planet they discover life on. Maybe that's what these unknown species of life are doing, except they are far into the future then we are. You can't deny it, you can prove it a little bit, but not enough to change the way we all think about it. But the host of this documentary, who did not say his name, says that we're unbelievably close to find life. As I said, it was VERY interesting. I also got to go on this virtual simulator ride with friends, which beat the hell out of any video game ever made. It was a ride that moved around with the video you saw inside the ride. You played as a team of astronauts who are contacted by martians who are crying for help to save them. As the ride begins you hear a countdown and all of a sudden feel this rumble as you are flying to Mars. I also got to hold a small piece of a meteorite. I always heard they were very heavy, but for something that's just a bit smaller then a shoe, you wouldn't know it. The best part was being able to hear the sounds of space. Space sounds very windy. It was a great moment in life to hear something like this.
I would deffenitly go back to this place! This post has been edited by Yeti: Aug 28 2008, 01:08 AM |

I found a picture on Google which shows the ride I went on. This picture was taken at a different planetarium, but the ride is exactly the same.
