According to this news source:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080903/ap_on_..._palin_iraq_war

QUOTE
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."

So ... God WANTS us to fight?

Among her quotes:
QUOTE
the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."

Uh-huh. Yeah. Sure.

And the fact that money is involved doesn't influence this at all ...

QUOTE
"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."

Our leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God? Oh, well ... I guess I can't argue with God, now can I? But ... I was kind of under the impression that our nation specifically does not take orders from God, but rather the people.

QUOTE
As they preached the love of Jesus throughout Alaska, she said, she'd work to implement God's will from the governor's office, including creating jobs by building a pipeline to bring North Slope natural gas to North American markets.

And the fact that as a citizen of Alaska she gets revenue from Alaskan oil has nothing to do with this ... it's all in the service of God ... uh-huh.

QUOTE
"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.

So ... uh ... God's master plan is to ... sell oil. Hmmmm. Never would have thought of that one. I had more the impression it was about ... oh, I don't know ... conquering evil or getting us to eat better or ... HECK, be nice to each other.

*******

I tell you ... I was on McCain's side until he chose Palin

Mac posts: I'm convinced the American establishment is full of stark raving war mad barbarians.
=================

Well yeah Mac! It was England who sent a lot of their ’barbaric malcontents’ to serve out sentences in the Colonies (the USA) way back when, so I am blaming England for the State of Affairs over here in the States!!! Lol

Kirin, nice dig. Everyone had been wondering what kind of dirt would be dug up on McCain’s running mate, that ‘O-so beautiful and charming Palin’, who must be tough as nails because she can (and did) shoot and field dress a Moose!
I saw a picture of one of her ‘kills’… Poor Moose’s face was all distorted and bloodied up… (May have been a head-shot).
Her and her little daughter right there in the pic hovering on there haunches above the mangled corpse. That picture was worth a couple of thousands words!
Especially after her comments about God being on “Our Side’ during a War, so: ‘Fear not the Ravages of War my Brave Soldiers’ but rather, fear the wrath of God should you hesitate in fulfilling the destiny that I tell you is God’s Will!!!
“And, uh, Don’t worry if your face gets shot off!. We have great doctors at the Veterans Hospital to help you return to a normal civilian life!”

And if one refuses to fight a War like the one in Iraq, I’ll bet Palin is willing to open up a large Prison in Alaska’s frontier in order to harbor them…

God, just what we need in the White House.
A Spokes-Woman of God… Curses on the McCain Campaign!!! ~rore

If that was a dig it was misplaced,I'm scottish not english. And we gave the brits a whipping too.

My dig is at the American establishment not the people. The english and the yanks are linked throughout modern times. And of course the settlers, weren't they all europeans.Killed millions of indians and British who started the slave trade.Every nation has a cross to bear. Its just some are bigger than others.

Scottish, eh, Mac? Awesome. I was telling my students just yesterday about Hadrian's wall and why it was built.

Rore, I saw that 'kill picture' and it made me cringe. I was thinking 'uh ... aren't you supposed to shoot it through the HEART?' and 'perfectly good trophy completely ruined' and 'missed, huh?'

A few of my other favorite bits of Palin dirt:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080911/pl_af...ia_080911234557

QUOTE
We have to keep our eyes on Russia, under the leadership there,"

QUOTE
When asked if the United States would have to go to war with Russia should Georgia join NATO and Russia invade the country, she said, "Perhaps so."

There's also a juicy rumor that Trig is not Palin's son but her grandson. Apparently nobody knew she was pregnant until right before she gave birth. However, her daughter Bristol was taken out of school for FIVE MONTHS before the birth because of a bad case of mono: fatigue in mononucleosis generally lasts only 1-2 months.

There are also rumors that Bristol looked pregnant before Trig was born, and it's been verified that pictures of Palin from around that time have ALL been taken down from Alaskan government websites.

Supposedly the announcement that Bristol is now (again) five months pregnant was supposed to silence these rumors, but they persist, with many people predicting either that the baby will either (a) be miscarried, (cool.gif be born later than expected, © be born on time but smaller than normal (from being premature like Trig).

Don't know if I believe it, but it's a juicy conspiracy.

Kirin posts: I was thinking 'uh ... aren't you supposed to shoot it through the HEART?'
==============

I was thinking, “Head shot? Hmmm pretty confident considering hunters are taught to go for the heart” (larger and easier ‘kill zone’ to hit). Plus, animals are known to move their heads around more-so than their whole body when feeding or stopping to look around.

But what really hit me was Palin’s words about serving God & Country and the picture of her kill conjuring up images of injured or dead soldiers on the battlefield doing ‘God’s Work’. Sick ~rore

Research, Mac. Nobody is still dying because of the bomb other than those who were originally exposed. There's hardly any residual radiation.

However the 'work for the state' and 'puppet on a string' and 'keep feeding the students horseshit' ... I don't appreciate that Mac. That is not a nice thing to say, and it's not true.

1) I don't work for the state. I work for a private school.

2) I'm a puppet on a string only to my employer, to whom I owe loyalty.

3) I do not feed my students horseshit. We do study the atomic bombings in my class.

May I please recommend you not say anything like that again.

Okay i went off the rails..started to rant like alex james.I will apologise for making those comments.I'm starting to forget who my freinds are.

i do still think, that the current american/anlgo establishments are blood thirsty barbarians. You guys thought that was a general comment about americans as a whole. It was not intended to offend ordinary yanks.

I am anti-establishment,at odds with the current system of lies and corruption,It goes to the core from politics through to schools and religion.Over 4'000 Us soliders have died, lives wasted for what. The real number is much higher as is the casualty rate of Iraqi civilians...and for what?Saddam was never a risk, osama is not responsible for 911,the FBi want him for the 98 bombing nothing is mentioned about 911 in his most wanted profile. here i go again,i 'd better stop.

So sorry Kirin, although i'll stand by my views as i know i am right.I will not insult you again.

Don't worry, Mac. I growl but I don't bite ... much. I know deep down there was nothing personal in it, and I realized on the way home that I took it harder than I should. No apologies necessary. Seriously.

well if ur fellow countrymen vote 4 the pitball with lipstick and the coffin dodger (NOV 2008) ,then ww3 will happen sooner or later. ur country is the most paranoid at present, but r british government r not far behind,as they r still intending to bring in a national id card scheme(in the name of national security-that is a joke) ,which the majority r against. the us and britain r the only nations that r willing 2 have a pop at anyone who they c as a threat, which could include russia and iran.

It has seemed a bit hypocritical to me ever since the Iraq war. You accuse the people of Islam as being terrorists and that their religion promotes violence. Yet, WW1 did'nt start because of them. WW2 did'nt start because of them. They have not dropped nukes on any country. No one can conclusively say they were responsible for 9/11...yet. It was all the Bible abiding hypocrites that started every major war. More people have been killed(tortured and even disgustingly raped) by foriegn soldiers in Iraq than the number of people who died dring 9/11. And yet, the people who follow Islam are painted as terrorists. I have tried not to use harsh words in my post. If it offends anyone who can see the whole picture, I am sorry. For people who blindly become angry at people like me, I dont give a shit.
