I used to love jet fighters. F–14D Tomcat was my favorite. Still is, I guess. I hate F–15s with a passion, because everyone always praised the F–15 and never the F–14 which is armed so much better for air to air conflict.

The F-14, even the D model was still underpowered it seems.. and isnt as versatile.

These days to be honest, military aircraft to me are sort of boring.. there number of types in use is tiny compared to before..few companies, few numbers..

Personally..and Im not sure why, Ive always really liked the F-8 Crusader. I got excited after seeing the previews of "13 Days" simply because it featured the F-8..

The F–14 is the best interceptor we have, and it carries the Pheonix missile, which is a very expensive air to air missile. It has a range of 100 miles, and is indepentantly guided. Often, an F–14 can take out another jet before the other jet even knows the F–14 is there.

As the opponents up to now were only Mig-21 and similars... rolleyes.gif
The hit ratio of such BVR weapons as the Phoenix is miserable and it is pretty expensive. An experienced pilot in a modern fighter aircraft will easily evade the missile. smile.gif

Did someone say Harriers? I'm going into the Marine Corps for the Aviation Contract, and depending on how good I do in flight school, I could be flying harriers! So Nyah!

The Euro Jet is awesome-so is the Mig 32 I think its called, when that was shown at the air show a few years back I have footage showing Pentagon officials with there mouths open as it hovers and goes backwards.

I like our F111's and F-18 Hornet Jet fighters.

Have alook at this over Sydney the past 5 months I have 4 hours of footage of these things/tests/something new.
