Okay peeps.. just been to a really great coffee shop... if your ever travelling up the A9 in Scotland this place is a must.. got cakes to die for . and coffee that starbucks would drool for.. I think giving the name would be a perhaps bad thing to do.. but it's off the Tore roundabout towards a place called cromarty... go for it .. I did and boy what a neat little secret place it is.

There's a little place called Flipnotics down the street from my house here in Austin I go to all the time. Great place to cure a hangover! biggrin.gif

I'm thinking about saving for a trip to the British Isles next summer... I'll try to find that place if I get to go.

I want to go to Scotland sad.gif

Curiously, I've never heard a woman with a Scottish accent before. My theory is that they all turn in to men. That's where the kilt comes from.

Steady lad steady, hell hath no fury like a Scotsman being told he has a 'feminine' side.

Last thing you want to do is anger a Scotsman. Especially in a pub.

Bagpipe music is pretty cool.

I HATE THE BLOODY BAGPIPES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could I would round up every piper in Scotland and force them to expell their last breaths into the horrible creatures before I strangled them with their instruments just to make sure they were dead.

Other than that yeah they're okay.

Ben
Bastard pipers they always drown everyone else out.
Okay I'll say no more on the matter.

Ben
Bastards.

I can understand getting sick of them if you hear them all the time.

I hear country music all the time where I live, and I can't stand it.

I guess every culture can get old to some.

I'm surprised she was allowed to speak. Scotsmen weren't keen on their women doing that kind of thing back then. Some of them still feel the same.

I have the same difficulty with Scotish women,
"Are you buying me a drink Ben?"
"Pardon?"
"Are you buying me a drink Ben?"
"Good god woman I can't understand that accent of yours!"

Works a treat.

Ughhh. Bagpipes. I was at a camping place around where I live and as me and my friends were walking about when we were confronted by 20 or so bagpipe players. It was one of the most annoying walks ive ever taken. And since there are quite a few hills and trees the noise echoed throught the entire place.

They are like any instruament.. when played well they sound wonderful.. when played badly it's like a dying cat.. well in the case of the bagpipes perhaps several cats..

like listening to a violin played by a three year old as compared to a proffesional playing a decent piece of classical

I dislike violins... Ugh. Bagpipes are cool, though. I've always wanted to visit an old castle in Scotland, and I always imagine bagpipes playing in the background.

Well if I'm there no sooner will you hear the sound of the piper than you will hear the sound of him screaming as I throw him over the ramparts and the big splash when he hits the nearest Loch!
