I'm not sure if there is already a thread for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. So please warn me if there is.

So, has anyone ever played this game? I own it and I am really close to beating the game. I think it is probably the best game I have ever played. :cool:

Are we talking beating it 100% here? If you are then (so I'm told) that's mighty impressive. PS2 Magazine thought it'd take 150 hours to do this one 100%, that'd be way more than GTA3 and Vice City combined.

I however, have to wait until next year to play it

The game is awesome, I am still on the first island exploring every nook and cranny (finding the levels a tad hardish) I got 96 tags but can't for the life of me find the other 4, I've parachuted to the other islands a few times, but the fighter plane gets me or the cops, can't wait to try out the jet pack

Remember (for those who don't know) if you use the cheats and save the game you will not get to end the game with 100%,

Sriontoc: this is the last one that will be released on the Playstation first, Sony haven't signed a new deal with R* for the next game. Hopefully they'll make the next one for the PC so they can take advantage of being able to make the game much bigger, more detailed and complex. Moving further along the RPG line would be good as well, and with PCs they might finally get around to giving us multiplayer.

I hope they change there mind, and keep GTA for the PS3. I have trouble using the PC for work/play games (I have arthritis in most of my joints and spine) and the PS joy stick is the only one I can use without short term discomfort.
I heard the new generation of consoles such as PS3 will have the same power as a PC at least 200 times faster than present consoles

There are some really weird things in the game. I've been reading rumors about Bigfoot being in the game, and even UFOs! I found this list of paranormal things that people have been experiencing in the game. Check it out:


Bigfoot - Believed to roam at the base of Mt.Chiliad. Sceenshots Provided, Believed to be fake. The hunt continues.
CJ mom's ghost - Can apparently be caught on camera in Cj's home. No proof yet.
Black shape in Airport - Believed to be the Bigfoot again.
Weird Noises - Heard around usually in the Badlands, and near Mt. Chiliad, No recordings as of yet.
Mystery phone booth - Apparently appears somewhere in the desert. (Think of the film "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. lol)
Ghost Ship - No Details on this.
Ghost Car - Confirmed. On the bottom of the map there are 2 gray horsehose shapes, go to the edge of the left one on the map, there is a ditch and it has some wrecked up old cars. Get in the one at the top of the hill, drive it away somewhere and come back to that spot. Walk away for a few seconds then come back to see the same driverless car emerge from the woods. This car is already wrecked and is not repairable in a pay and spray or garage (mod shop repairs it though). People have been saying this may be how CJ's father died?
UFOs- Is said to be true, there is some evidence on the internet.
Plane Crash's - There are random plane crash's, alot of people have had seen this.
People Committing Suicide - Apparantly true, No evidence as such yet.
Jaws - Said to be true on other forums although no evidence has been seen.
Alien Radio - Apparently when your driving around the desert your radio is hijacked by Aliens, No recorded proof yet.
Fly Fish - Still needing photo evidence
Four Armed Freak - Seen, not proven
Sea Serpent - Apparently real, there are some screenshots somewhere on the web.
Ghosts of Fort Carson - Was talked about on the official San Andreas website untill release date when it was removed. Rumour say's you can hear them during the night at Fort Carson.
Haunted House - Weird breathing, creaking floorboards and footsteps upstairs all need confirming.

Vandal ....I have heard these rumors too, the only two I can confirm are the ghost car and
People Committing Suicide, they keep jumping out in front of my vehicles.
Some GTA forums are showing clips of bigfoot (stills from videos) but no real proof, and most of the forums are now saying using the cheats will not alter the game out come, but can cause some interesting glitches

I think gta is one of the best games I have ever played and i am close to beating it and it is cool like you can do what ever you want like in reality. I would rate it and it would be like 9-10.I think every one should try it.

It is one of the best ways to unwind and let off steam that i've ever come across, GTA has one of the biggest adult cult followings I know of,
The problem I have about the game is that children are being allowed to play it, I over heard a child of about 8 or 9yrs boasting to his pal that he loves killing people in the game, and used the swearing and racist remarks that are used in the game, the worse part was when he said "I would love to jack a car and drive down the road killing everyone, it would be dead cool" this comment sent shivers down my back, we do need tighter controls to stop kids playing adult content games

Alot of kids in my neighborhood play GTA: San Andreas. Their parents don't really give a crap of what they play. There is a bunch of curse words, racial comments, violence, sexual content, and drug use in this game. I'm surprised their parents don't care... My parents do care, because of the reviews that they have been reading about the game. I need to be extra cautious when watching a cut scene when my parents are around. Lol.

There were sharks that could eat Tommy in Vice City, it was RARE though, it happened to me twice while I played the game and I never managed to make it happen when I was trying to show someone it.

Hehe... ummm... you know that some consider these narrow a little elevated roads actually 'sideways'?

So, did anyone watch the 2004 Video Game Awards lastnight on Spike TV? I didn't, but I heard that GTA San Andreas is the game of the year!!

I watched it, it was pritty cool. Yep GTA: San Andreas won game of the year!!!
