I didn't know if I should of haved posted this thread in the off-topic forum, or this forum... So mods can move this if they would like. smile.gif Anyways, here is a list of my problems:
  • Whenever I click on a link to a webpage that pops up in a new window, the whole page just freezes. I can sometimes scroll up and down on it, but I cannot click on a link and can't right click.
  • Whenever I close my internet explorer, or advertisments, a message comes up and says "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Please tell Microsoft about this problem." So I click on the Send Error Report button, but when it is sending the report, it never responds back.

Can anyone help me with these problems? Much help would be appreciated it!!

Hi Vandal, I would first defrag the computer to start off, then delete cookies and temporary internet files, then check for spyware/hijackers.
Hope that helps :throwpc:

Your problem sounds as apache.one said, spyware/adware....

Here's a well known product called Lavasoft Ad-Aware for free download... go to the site and check it out, works well... you'll be shocked at how much junk it'll find.

Lavasoft Ad-Aware

Also, here's a product geared towards spyware; Spyboy S&D, a free program.

Spybot S&D

be well.

As sriontoc said, http://www.getfirefox.com/ will sort your problem because you can use that instead of Internet Explorer. Another option would be to try going to http://www.microsoft.com and downloading a new version of IE and seeing if that sorts things. The problem does sound like some dodgy software (i.e. spyware, adware, etc.) that is screwing the job up so LS's advice could nail it.

Did you installed any new programs or "value added" mini-programs? Did you removed any programs? Check to see your HD space, make sure you are not running out. Is your Internet connection stable?

Likw some people stated previously, run Spyware removal as well. I recommend a program named Spy Sweeper. AdAware & SpyBot are ok, but they do not remove and or block a lot of stuff. Also, defrag, like they stated, it never hurts.

If everything fails & I am assuming you are using a Windows box ... download IE first, then remove IE from your Control Panel, and reinstall it. Make sure you download SP2 if you are running WinXP.
