Okay here is a place to tell everyonne your earliest memory, a glimpse from your past that you think about once in a while.
heres one of mine.
I was three years old and lived in a place called Whitby.. only been there for about a month.. could read or write very much. just make out my own name.. pretty average.. decided to go out and play on my trike... Dad at work.. mum with the other three.. one of which was toddling one messing about in the kitchen and the other a baby,, me being an independant wee soul plays outside alone.. ( I was a pretty naughty kid and never listened to mum ,just don't ask her what else I got up to.. and especially not my teens.. thanx).. anyway I digress... off goes me.. little Opal .. with the crown jewels,my trike, scooting down the road crossing roads etc.. the bit I remember was whenit was dark.. and a very kind lady took me over the road.. I don't remember my dad finding me.. but he did.. nor the poilce or anything.. just the trike and the dark and the lady taking me across a busy road.. well busses are huge whenyou are three and pretty scary..
I have to say tho nothings changed.. i get on planes to the wrong places,, ended up in Munich once when i was meant to be in Dussldorf.. .. and got on a bus to go to the airport in Rome and ended up at the port.. I don't know how I do it.. I never get lost when I drive.. (well only a little bit...you ever been to spaggetti junction?)

anyway thats a pretty dull one.. hope yours are more exciting.. smile.gif

Gosh, Opal. I've got a terrible memory! Gee, Opal.. you'd think you'd get on those planes and such on purpose to the wrong place! Lol.

I remember one thing.. I was at my Grandparents and one of my brothers (my half brother) Joe, well.. I think I was like 3. He had a skateboard and he put me on it, and he'd push me down the sidewalk. THAT I remember.

What else??
...
...

Hmm.. Can't think of anything else right now.

Really early: A dream, probably. A desert scene with a cactus in the background. Looks like Death Valley...

3 Months: It was dark and I looked between the drapes on my window outside. Nothing spectacular, except that I'm not supposed to remember things from that early.

Because I was in my crib. According to my mom, my crib was only by the window for a short period when I was three months old, and I distinctly remember looking up out the window with my blanket and sheets over me and bars all around me.

maybe it is a memory into the future... be sure to tell us if u ever get arrested!

my first memory is actually a memory of a memory. I was in a crib when my dad came over to play with me. I was laying down, and he tickled my feet. I looked down and I saw a LIZARD! I started crying and my dad picked me up. There was no lizard though, it was just what I expected to see...

I remember telling my mom about it a long time ago. When I think about it, I see everything from a 3rd person perspective, other than that, its exactly the same as far as I know...

if a memory of a memory doesn't count, then I remember when I was at my old neighbor's new house after they had moved from my neighborhood. It was right next to a grave yard, and my sister and I were playing in it, until we came across an empty grave, then we both ran away... My sis says that there was an open casket next to it, but I don't remember seeing one... She's 3 years older than me though so she might remember it better than me.

Let's see, I don't know which one is my earliest one because I don't know exactly how old I was I just know I was under 1 yr old.

I remember being given a bath in the kitchen sink by my mom.
I remember playing in my walker with the little beads and toys on the front of it.
I remember my high chair and the cute little dish warmer my mom fed me baby food from, it had the seperate sections like a TV dinner and she was feeding me baby food.

I remember being at church with my family and drinking out of my bottle and a kid near me had a Flinstone baby bottle that I liked so as soon as the kid(can't remember if it was a boy or girl) sat it down I grabbed it and wanted to drink from it and my mom took it from me and I was mad! LOL!

That's all I can think of! LOL! I know there's more because I wrote them down once. I will add them as I think of them. Hmmm... smile.gif

I have a lot of small memories of just normal things, nothing out of the ordinary, don't really know why I remember those events.

I do remember my walker and my older siblings told me that I always loved that walker and used to speed through the house in it! LOL!

My mom says once I was speeding in it and ran ito the TV stand and the big TV set almost fell right on me! I don't remember it though. LOL!

I should write these down again. smile.gif

I have lots of other memories but I know they are not my earliest because I was walking and stuff. I remember my first pair of shoes that were not baby shoes, they were blue with a big flower at the toe part on both shoes, I loved those shoes and didn't want to take them off! smile.gif I can still see them in my mind. LOL!

I remember when I was around 2yrs old and when my mom would have someone come to watch me while she did other stuff and I used to do things that were wrong and then go tell my mom that the lady (whatever her name was can't remember) wasn't watching me! LOL! my mom remembers this too! LOL!

I remember when she used to take me places and would hold my hand while we walked and I used to break away from her and run off somewhere. LOL! I thought that was fun!

'S funny Opal but my first memory is of being given a trike by my 'Rich' aunt and Dad giving me a shotgun to play with. I took both to the biggest hill in the little Village and rode down it like I was in the US Cavalry. I was only 4 days in hospital after coming to an abrupt end against the side of the local grocery delivery van. Bike was busted but the shotgun still worked!

I also remember going in my brothers room when we stayed at my grandparent's house when I was about 3. Keep in mind he's 11 years older than me. Well.. I crawled under his bed and took out this magic playset thing he had. I remember I had it on the bed and I was playing with it. And then I remember my Grandpa coming in there and saying "Sarah Jane, Joey's gonna be mad if he sees you with that."

Yeah.. That's all I remember.

Ahhh sweet Fiona.....I ditched her. Preferred her when she was a Princess then she got all ugly on me. I wanted something a little less 'pig' like. It's a crying shame coz she was great at getting rid of the leftovers from supper. Sad. And girl could she find truffles???

I remember taking baths in the kitchen sink.
I remember being able to walk under the kitchen table.

My earliest memory is of being in my crib one night, and I'd been watching Sesame Street earlier that day...there was a sceen of firemen sliding down the pole in the firehouse...and I was standing there in my crib that night, and the bars of my crib reminded me of what I'd seen that day on Sesame street...
I decided to try it myself...I climbed over the rail of my crib, and realized at that point it was a really bad idea...too late...my fingers got stuck between the crib bars and the mattress...I just had to jump...bonked my head...it sucked.

Yeah Kelly way to go! You've triggered a flood of early memories now...especially the 'bath' bit. LOL.

We were so poor that we lived in a tenement in Glasgow which had an outside toilet shared by everyone who lived there. Late at night if I needed a pee I'd have to go down the stairwell. I remember 'feeling' my way round the corners of the stairwell to see if there were any ghosts waiting round the next bend for me.

Sometimes I would find a drunk lying on the stairs and although I may only have been about 5 years old I'd rifle his pockets and nick his money. It meant sticking my hands into pockets that were usually pissed on though. Yeeuck.

I too was bathed in the sink as we didn't have a bath. I also slept in the same bed as my 3 sisters as we had no bedrooms. Mum and Dad I remember slept on the floor. Damn I'd forgotten how poor we once were. Ah what it was to be the son of a Coalminer.
