Talking how deep was your snow!

most of you guys know me and the fact that i have moved from yeovil, somerset, to aldershot, hampshire, to live with my fiancee, recentely.

we had a bad fall of snow, over the last few days, (it is britain, anything more than an inch means panic buying and everything grinding to a halt!).

i thought that it would be interesting to hear, from you guys, what is considered a bad fall of snow!!!

tues 3rd feb, i measured the snow at 10 inches, and on wed 4th feb, a further 2 inches fell, making a grand total of 12 inches.

of course all schools were shut and government officials, were warning us not to drive, UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY (lol), buses and trains ground to a halt, as did the motorway system, with one report of 60 lorries stranded on an A road (again lol).

i am now waiting on weather reports (from you guys), and how your respective countries deal with such tragedies, as snowfall (pmsl).

incidentaly, no gritters were assigned until after the road system ground to a halt, and now the news reports tell us we are running out of salt!!!!!! (i am now sore laughing)

i leave the floor open to you guys!

    the mazdaman.

I was perfectly happy with what we had here, mazdaman, which amounted to nearly three inches of nice, stable snow.

Last time I had 'real' snow was when I travelled the UK, about thirty years ago, 5 inches and then some. I love snow, without it I feel as if we missed winter.

I am happy to say that the 3 feet (with drifts of 8 feet) we had here is gone. We have seen record snow this year in our area, and now we just wanted to share some with you over in Engalnd...

So anyways today I finally figured out how to make a youtube account and upload videos!! I am tickled to death because no one had to help me make my first video, and I will post it here for you mazdaman: [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gur49Gf0uwk"]YouTube- Broadcast Yourself.[/nomedia]

    Enjoy your winter!

The snow was probably knee deep in unshoveled areas a few days ago

Now, however, with the recent 'heat wave' it's down to frozen patches.

It's been a balmy ~40 degrees F outside, which allows me to grill some Porterhouses and drink Long Islands

ha no snow here, just 80* weather in Texas with peach trees in full bloom since the first week of January. Have we tilted? I am thinking about putting out my tomato plants but am thinking about last year around Easter when it was 75* on a Saturday and Easter Sunday it snowed. Go figure?
