    Default The Now and Change

I feel a large 'problem' with humans is we have become lost in the series of life... We have concepts and models for almost everything. We are a very judgemental and self-limiting race of species that have a lot of maturing to do.

While we think politics is in the process of changing society (which it is not - and it has no real agenda to either (I'll elaborate this if anyone cares to ask)) we as human individuals (majority) stand idle in the mist of society.

To elaborate on our 'obsessive' behaviour; how many people are constantly processing their past or future - fitting models, ideas and ideals of what is, was or will be? I'd say at least 90%, and I'm one of them - working on that.

The problem with this is in how we process the present... Which is everything. Our development hinders greatly when we are busy categorising the illusion of something that doesn't exist - the future. Needless to say, the past is past. Things change.. If you hold on to what was, you won't move forwards.

This speaks volumes, for constantly people reflect on their past to make decisions, fitting everything into the same model of what they think is best. Something we have forgotten in childhood is to explore new options, seek new ways of doing things, and change. People are afraid of change because they don't like the discomfort of being somewhere they haven't been before -(both these problems have been conformed in human nature as we age)- which brings us to the limitation we create when processing the future - we can't define our future, we can't create models for potential ways, we are yet to explore that potential, in conceptualising our choices we only limit them to our present understanding. This is why we should only act in the present based on what we know 'then and there', seeking new ways of dealing with arising factors as they arise. Why? Because this is how we learn and progress. It's how we develop ourselves - if that is what you feel is in your best interest.

Another problem with the past-based thinking I see commonly is how people assume that because an idea was once proposed and failed, that the idea will never be achieved. Let me give you an example: I get this from a lot of the older generation who were around in the "Hippy movement"; when there was a call for peace, love and change. Because there was no revolution, people believe revolution isn't achievable - stop living in the past.!

This is the kind of limited thinking that creates these blocks of potential change. It won't work if we have the same mind-set they carried back then, and attempt exactly the same thing, that's why we learn from our past in understanding that that was not an effective method of achieving our goal of change. So we try new methods as new generations are born and new ways of thinking and dealing with change are created.

Our potential as a human race is limited based on a lot of what I have discussed; going back to the start when I said people "stand idle in the mist of society" - it seems our thinking and actions are largely defined by our society and it's way of doing things. Do we look beyond what society has to offer? Do we seek more than what science and religion tells us is possible? I think this is left to the minority, and it's sad to see how powerless society has left the majority of humans.

    great post kway

Do we seek more than what science and religion tells us is possible?

i see religion and science as this

religion - extreme right brain thinking

science - extreme left brain thinking

and the two constantly clash back and forth.

anything extreme is bad for you
The truth is out there "But the real question you need to ask yourself are you ready for it.".

lol I thought you meant politics for a moment. Then I was like, "Oh, he said BRAIN," something many politicians seem to forgo when taking office.

I didn't think I would have to to be honest, this isn't an offence against you, though it is increasingly becoming understood how the world's corporations influence the government, with a lot of bankers being present in the political structure.

Obviously this is extremely manipulative and wrong.
Their agenda isn't to create free energy if there is money to be made in using dirty chemical energy.
The market that they are insistent on maintaining is detrimental to our progress... The products sold are simply for consumerism and the ones that do assist us are limited in design as the market has regulations to keep incoming profit. This means not being too advanced - you often see how products are capped/restricted from top performance so that they can continuously sell better models - they constantly bombard us with new products which are ages old in design just to keep the generation of incoming money.
This cyclical process has little regard for human well-fair as we literally poison ourselves. They create dangerous chemical foods because it's easier and cheaper to produce, they use hazardous and dirty sources of energy damaging our environment and the air we breathe, they even poison our water with fluoride so there is less tax spent on dental treatment - of course they use the cheaper more harmful type:

There's also mental-poisoning which I won't go too much into, there's the education system and media which impose conformity, digress diversity and indoctrinate.

Our media sources constantly manipulate the news to feed a one-sided bias understanding of current, past and potential future situations so people don't resist a lot of the 'dark' agendas our government/corporate institutions enact, or simply to conform the masses into one ideology.

Needless to say the research that goes into our science is one-sided regarding corporate interest before exploring what would benefit human-kind - and the information that is out-let by these institutes is controlled. Who knows what information is stored in top-secret facilities...

Our governments want to preserve this self-serving system in the name of money and power.

Nigel Farage sums up the behaviour of the EU quite nicely.

People basically find this comfortable though. That is why it i like it is. The majority does not care enough to do anything about it. People who are well off are happy enjoying the decadance of their wealth. People who are poor are just trying to survive day to day. High ideals are fine, but you have to have a willingness to try and make change. We are all mostly unwilling.

As for the hippie movement, well everyone grew up, got married and had kids. The sad thing is that as fun as the whole hippie idea is, it is not a very practical way to run a world. Sooner or later someone will need to mine some minerals, or manufacture some medicines. It is just not sustainable on a large scale. Perhaps a revolution could work in a middle ground kind of way.

People work and think in ways that gets what they seek with minimum energy unless they are excercising.
Thought habits and methods of are whatever works best for the individual.
You want major change? Someday telepathy will learned and used and then our way of thinking will drastically change. Same for when ETs visiting become commonly accepted. For now it is difficult to get people and politicians TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. Change will come slowly. Rapid change us unsettling for people as they need time to ready themselves for a change. They fear the negative side of a change of ideas or thinking. Still Waters Run Deep goes through their minds and they must first observe others...test the themselves defore jumping in.
One day we will look back to our present way of life and thinking and laugh at what will look like total silliness.
In search of the real truth.

I don't think most people will even accept change, even if it's coming down at them 100 mph and have no alternative.

As I see it, there is absolutely nothing wrong with anyone living within what they find comfortable and being content with that, thus being unwilling, as in not having a desire, to make changes to live up to high ideals..

I much prefer to be one of those constipated people who live in the Here and Now and accept that life is what it is and that people are who they are. It's pretty pointless breaking out in a sweat striving for some sort of hypothetical ideal of how people should or shouldn't be...

That's like sending someone a postcard with a picture of the Earth and then on the back of it writing,

    'Wish you were here'...
