Sometimes life can get you down and the world can seem a cruel and heartless mistress. It can help to see beauty in the simplest of things. Please share what it was that made you happy TODAY, what made you smile, what made you think that its not all that bad.

For me today it was my 3 year old daughter. She came home from kindergarten and went straight to her room, I left her for a while and went to un-pack some shopping. When I finished I went to see what she was doing and found her sat on the floor cutting up flowers ( I put fresh flowers by her bed every Saturday). I watched her for a while thinking that she was just being destructive, but then she turned to me and ashed me for an envelope! When I asked her why she said to me, "Flowers make me happy, I want to send them to china to make the other children happy." I asked her to explain a little more and she said, "Lots of children's mums and dads died in the earthquake, they will be sad, I want them to be happy."
We had spent yesterday fundraising and I didn't think she really understood what we were doing, how wrong I was. It made me so proud I cried with happiness.

Please share what made you happy today.

Ditto that. That's a cute story. Only thing made me happy is my cup of coffee right now. Been a rough day: that story made up for it though.

I want to share another snippet of enlightenment from my 3 year old. A little background first, It's been raining in Hong Kong incessantly for about 2 weeks, my daughter understands the water cycle. We live at the base of a dormant volcano.

We were walking to the bus stop on the way to kindergarten today and my daughter asked why we don't see rainbows in Hong Kong, I explained to her that the sky was to dirty because of all the pollution. She nodded sagely and told me that it was sad. I collected her from kindergarten and we came home, after she got changed she went to the kitchen and took a cloth and a handbrush, then she came to ma and asked me to take her to the top of the mountain. i asked her why and she told me, 'I want to see a rainbow, we need to clean the sky, we can do it if we climb high enough'!

My daughter gives me hope for the future.

P.S. share some feelgood stories if you have time, it would make nice reading.

Those that know me, know I love golf. Anyway, I've been teaching my girl friend golf. I bought her a set of women's clubs with very much lady's flex shafts. (The faster you swing, the stiffer your shaft needs to be.) Anyway, she's been having trouble lately with her irons. I asked her to hit a few balls. I knew her problem right away. She needs stiffer shafts. That made me smile.

Being alive. Being in love and being loved. Seeing my three angels smile. I usually run in the early morning, a jog of a few miles, and I love it when there are no clouds in the sky and when I see the sun slowly rising in the horizon. The morning dew, the chirping of birds,…

I have always seemed to attract animals and seen to have a knack for spotting them easily.
Today I has humored by this large frog that sat perched ready to leap onto the road. It sat up, nose high, watching the traffic.
It was just off the pavement on the gravel on a back road.
I never hardly do this but it stuck out so profoundly and looked so silly where it was, I had to back up and see what kind of frog this was(the leopard & Pickeral frogs are endangered here).
It turned out to be a species called the Green frog(imaginative...I know rolleyes.gif).
It allowed to to get out of my vehicle and walk up to it. I squatted down and simply touched it's nose, and this frog seemed pissed as it rapidly turned and did multiple leaps into the tall grass.

I know, I know, you find me a little loony for such humors and pleasures, but I am an avid lover of all animals and nature.
This past weekend I also got the opportunity to see 2 wild baby Foxs playing in the road and earlier the same day a female Grouse with her baby chicks trotting along side this gravel road.
It is these things and as Allison says, hearing the birds sing and the smell of wild blooms.

That made me happy biggrin.gif

What made me happy today, my gf cooked me dinner. When I first met her she couldn't cook. She put her mind to it and now is almost as good as my mom. My gf always makes me happy. I can't wait to bring her back to the US to get married. I know that she won't only make me happy, but make my mom happy as well, b/c my mom will know I have a good woman, not some tramp I met at a bar like most of my friends married.

Today...waking up made me happy knowing that i could do anything i wanted that day, i also bought a few books with my sister.
On the way back we bought some hot chocolate sashets thinking we could keep them for later, on the way it began to rain. I saw this cat running into a close opening and looked at me as we ran past, then we got in and it began to pour down. I pulled a quilt over myself, drinking my hot chocolate and reading my book...ah bliss.
