No, I'm not being emo, it's just a really good tune by Arovane.
![]() It's been a fun couple of years for me here at A-U; I came, I posted, I discussed, I trolled, I conquered. Well, not the last part, unfortunately. But my time well spent over here has to come to an end as I lessen my visited forums and take on new missions in life off the internet, so I must make a formal departure. Here's where I should say something about keeping your eyes on the sky and uh....something about believing, but I won't. If I'm going to say anything worthwhile, it's: stay skeptical, never believe anything too deeply, and if an 'alien' dude swaggers up to you and does some amazing stuff, don't take it at face value. Always question everything and keep learning. If, for some reason, you wish to contact me, you can find me here, or somewhere on my webpage here. Toodles, hairless apes. P.S.: If any mod thinks this should be in the alienated coffee shop, sorry; I just figured it wasn't so much a personal problem to be discussed as a simple 'bye'.

This is a little more like it, kids.
The blog owner is Alex Ries, whose website has lots of neat and totally plausible extraterrestrials in it. They don't look likely to come probe you at 3:30am, either. And lolz to the "About Me": "Tired of seeing aliens that look like skinny bald humans." Because the scientific likelihood anything out there will look like humans is extremely minimal. ![]() Enjoy.

Listen to this clip here, and see if you know where the sample is from.
(Here it is alone.) Whoever wins...just gets to be the winner.

Do you really believe extraterrestrial aliens -- that is, life from other planets, specifically -- are visiting our planet currently? Are you truly, deeply convinced, without a shadow of a doubt, that this is the case?
I had a dream last night that inspired me to ask this question. I think it's a good one; as much as I see people posting about it on here as if it were straight-up fact, I can't tell if this is simply an online fantasy, internal fantasy, or something people truly and deeply believe. Please try to supplement your poll option selection with further explanation, as that's equally important (I think).

(Edited repost from my journal, I really thought I should put this up here for interested parties. I think it's brilliant.)
____ ![]() I have a pretty bizarre life all in all, but lately it has been almost unexceptional (with a handful of possible exceptions). In fact, it's been [subjectively] dull for the last month or so, bordering on almost normal. Still, every now and then my "boring" existence is peppered with moments that leave me sort of flustered and boggled. Perhaps these unusual episodes are just mundane and we're merely having a contradictory perception of them. Nevertheless they entertain the Neolmas (my boyfriend) and I. But whether or not other odd events are present in our (or just my) life, there is always the so-called synchronicity. Now, this can - and does - happen to anyone, but we've gotten to the point where we (the boyfriend and I) are trying to document the always extremely overwhelmingly common episodes. Being an atheist, I'm simply not about to relinquish my views of random chance as opposed to cosmic synchronicity, but even I have to admit when it's gotten weird. We have gotten to the point of setting up the Winamp playlist on shuffle while playing any movie, TV show, documentary, or video clip we choose. The results are always nothing short of astounding, but because of the huge size of the file that I would need to render and upload in order to "prove" -- perhaps fruitlessly, since it could also be faked -- our case, we've never before gone public with any evidence either way. But that changed when, one night, a friend of mine sent me a link to the twisted "Russian Experiments in the Revival of Organisms,"* and this time, by 'accidental chance,' my shuffled Winamp playlist synchronized with it without my even trying or planning to have the two play together. Somehow, the video started just as a tune (Pilote — or "Rarer and Bench" — "Kick It Old Schoolie") came on. That was funny enough. It didn't stop there. Since that was already pretty humourous to us (Neolmas and I) so I kept it going. What followed occasionally had us in hysterics, but I mostly sat with my jaw agape. Perhaps we just are batshit insane, but it seems to me that it's already astounding that the video and the music, which remained on random shuffle the entire time, began and ended with only 2 seconds difference between the two. It was just too good. I went back and recorded the entire line-up (crossfade and all) and shoved it on to the video, without altering either in any way**. What you see below is what happened. Potheads with your "Dark Side of Oz," EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT. >>CLICKY CLICKY FOR MOVIE [.wmv file hosted on hotherym.net] >>CLICKY CLICKY FOR MOVIE [Google Video] Song list is as follows: Rarer and Bench (Pilote) - "Kick it Oldschoolie" Orbital - "Doctor ?" Maus - "Databass" The Flashbulb - "Walking Irrevocable" Enjoy. * The video is real, and if you've never seen it, be warned that it is pretty damn gruesome. There is a severed dog head in it. ** Note that the samples in the songs, and the music at the end of the video do clash. |
