Let’s not fool ourselves. Nobody reads the “terms of service” when signing up for anything on the web. The small and long blocks of legalese text are constructed in a manner to purposefully get people to blindly click on the accept box.
However, a new service from a group of technologists and lawyers launched this summer to simplify the terms of service, aptly named ToS;DR, into an easily understood letter grade — Class A is user-friendly and Class E is a user nightmare.
It’s about time someone did this, but honestly, it would be better if there was some regulatory oversight to make terms of service clearer and easier to understand when signing up for a particular service. [via theatlantic]

Whatever works, use it.
A good idea stands on its own value independent of authorship.
If it stands or falls on the credibility of the author, maybe it isn't such a good idea.
Some sites used the TOS as a way of legally getting away with what would otherwise be copyright theft and violation of privacy laws.
So, this is a good idea.
TwitPic is bad...

That sounds like a good idea. I can appreciate the devious genius that is lawyerspeak but also when it's used to violate people's rights it isn't cool.
You're right -- I never even read that shit. Guess I should.
If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.
