I remember reading quite a bit about htis back when it happened. A lot in the movie was fictionalized, especially the ending where they captured the entity in a frozen booth. That never happened.

However, from what I have read, it was one of the best documented cases of paranormal activity ever. The last thing I read was that the attacks continued with decreasing frequency until they finally stopped several years before she died.

Monsters from the id or spirits from beyond, there was documented evidence by accredited researchers of paranormal activity.

While I do believe that we have a soul and survive death, I often lean more on the subcoinscious as the prime source of such activity. Yes, I also believe in Easrth bound spirits and they may be able to draw on the energy of the living to help manifest themselves, I think that this is not as pronounced. Monsters from the id...yes...

i remember that movie......and it was based on actual events even tho some stuff, like the end like bart said was just for dramatic effect....but the basics of the film were supposed to be pretty close to real life.

Wow, are we revealing our age or what, lol! I remember reading the book, before the movie came out. The last part of the movie was just a little much, I cannot imagine being able to freeze something that is pure energy. I also heard that they were still having problems with this entity, even after moving out of that house. I just thank god that the experiences I had as a kid were not nearly as severe as this haunting. I believe there are earth bound spirits, that were human at one time. But a thing such as this tends to fall more into the catagory of never being human, I believe there are energies such as this that have never held a human form hence the name given an "Entity". They are jealous of our human soul. Just my opinion of course.

I'm just reading the book by Dr. Barry Taff - the guy who investigated the case and who was portrayed by Ron Silver in the movie. It's a real eye opener and Dr. Taff puts forward some decent evidence in terms of photographs and independent corroboration. My own opinion is that some form of RSPK was involved.
