What do you think is the real story behind the stone heads. How, why and when. It is like stone henge but a bit less known. I recon there are loads of unexplained stone statues that aliens put there for a reason, but what do you think????

I read on one web-site that they contain the souls of the leaders or something of the island.

They were there to guard the peoples on the island - from dieseases and stuff, but what i don't get is how they moved the heads to where they are now.

they weighed alot, they probably used lots of slaves - like the Eygptians did.

But there were never that many people on the island, the slaves in egypt were forced to pull 50 tonnes not 250.

There are trees on Easter Island right? Roll the heads on the tree trunks. Improved wheels.

Then a combination of other rocks. levers, pulleys. and slopes got the heads upright.

Thats what i think.

could they not have carved them on the spot or merely maneuvered (big word) them a few feet to their present positions. It shouldn't have needed too many pre-historic brains to work out how. Or perhaps they had a form of technology far more advanced than ours, and all the intelligent little (figurative, not literal) beings left to go live on another planet, and just left the retards which expanded into what we now know as the human race?
