Don't think of prediction far in time.
But predictions of a very-very short time.
Whatever we see, it's not "now", but it's in the past.
And I'm not talking about looking at the Sun and you see it as it was about 7-8 minutes ago; or looking at a distant star in the sky and you see it as it was 2 million years ago.
No, not just that.
But when you look at your wrist watch, you see the time that was 0.000000000000000000000000027635seconds ago. In the past...not now...
Of course looking at your wrist watch is not a prediction,
But think of two people playing tennis.
They see the ball coming and they anticipate (or predict) where the ball will be, so they stretch their arm to hit the ball there, when the ball will arrive at that point.
Hit the ball = prediction 100% came true.
Miss the ball = prediction failed.
There is no player in the world that waits to see where the ball will be, and then move his/her arm to catch it or hit it.
It will be too late.
The same with driving a car.
You see a tree coming toward you,..... you predict it will hit you.
If you don't believe it, then you go to hospital, or morgue...
EVERYTHING we do in our lives is based on predictions.
They're only very short time predictions.....but nonetheless they are predictions.
I don't see the reason why somebody will not be able to expand that "short time", and make predictions about things from tomorrow or next year, or next century....
If there would be someone to know all the variables involved into an event, then someone can make an accurate prediction of what will happen with that event in the future....
.......not that someone like that exists or will ever exist...
....just theoretically...predictions about far-future are technically possible...
....practically now predictions of very-short-time are real, already happening. We are so used to them in our everyday life that we came to ignore them.
Regards.

The issue is being able to assign values to the variables.
Machines like computers work because the scope of variables are limited.
But the further ahead you try to make a prediction, the more difficult the variables become.
Even at the quantum level some variables become impossible.
The uncertainty principal introduces the random.
Jump off a tall building and it is predictable that some of your bones will break.
The uncertainty of variables make it impossible to predict exactly where the breaks will be.
Premontions may be your subconscious extrapolating what is likely to be.
Little bits of values for variables that you conscious mind paid no attention to.
Whatever works, use it.
A good idea stands on its own value independent of authorship.
If it stands or falls on the credibility of the author, maybe it isn't such a good idea.
i believe in the chaos theory. calculating a tennis ball is balance of possibilities.but it is not a forecast of how things will happen, rather how they porbably would happen calculated out of memories you have made in your prior life.
Well its very interesting, but i think you are right, because the short time can be predicted.
Seems to me some of the things you mentioned are anticipations arent they? The tennis player for instance anticipates the ball arriving so he/she can make contact and return the serve,But i do get the point your trying to make...Good thread for thought...![]()
Its easy to paint someone in a bad light when handed a tainted brush,Sooooo Keep your trap shut!!!
One thing is to be able to predict future events on your own and another is when you are told to write what will happen.
This is the way the prophecies are in the bible, Men who had contact with God were told what to say and did write what they heard.
I predict that it will take less than 10 seconds to read this. :-)
My knowledge is endless but my boredom is boundless
predictions are called such because they are NOT prophecies, tho. for example, perhaps i see that if i take that road i might wreck my shocks; but this will only happen if everything goes as it is going at the moment-in other words, maybe i will change my mind about taking that road, maybe i will get a flat tire beforehand, etc.
i always felt that the 'predictions' we make, feel will fall into two categories. those that COULD happen and those that very well MAY happen. for example, you dream of someone in your life suddenly reappearing, and there is a whole story there; this, if it is a 'sight' may occur. the person you dreamt of may change their mind about something, you may change your mind, the paths will then not cross again, etc. in other words, personal futures are not set in stone, which is, of course, why any 'readings' are bullshit
however, the dreams, the visions that some have of things that CANNOT be changed, such as a tidal wave, earthquake, flooding-these are things that if they are indeed a 'glimpse' should be heeded, because even if a 'mass' tries to thwart it, it will either happen anyway, or just be 'shoved' somewhere else. in other words, disasters that are not man-made generally cannot be changed
of course, you have to be careful with those predictions, also. if it was a dream, it could be subconscious; if it was during the day, check things out throughly, but in general i would heed those type of 'sights'.
in your personal life, you can actually 'make' your predictions happen, which i believe is called just directing your life and trying to make the right choices
