Default What would you do if you survived?

Imagine it now. The World as you know it has ended and you are alone in a post apocalyptic world. Money no longer has value. Food is scarce. Resources are low. Murderous gangs roam the wasteland that is left. People are very much looking out for themselves. But what would you do?

    1. Start/join a gang?

    2. Start/join a settlement?

    3. Become a lone wanderer?

    4. Become evil, loot, kill and pillage what you need?

    5. Stay good, help others, hunt for your food, trade etc...

    6. Give up and except you fate?

Personally myself, I would become a lone wanderer but I'm affraid I would loot kill and pillage what I need if I needed to do so.

The problem we have here though, is weapons such as guns.

I own or have access to:
One Single-barrel shotgun -> No ammo and extremely old.
    One Air Rifle w/ammo.
    One Sword.
    One Dagger.
    Two small knifes.

That would be the extent of my equipment until I find some better stuff.

The only real hope for long term survival would be in a settlement. You could lone wander while young and fit, and maybe survive, and that is a big maybe. But what will happen when your old, sick or hurt. No I would stick with a settlement and try and rebuild society.

Default I always enjoy reading these topics.

That movie was great(1st pic). The scene in the first pic was shot several miles from my house. I've walked several of those turnpike tunnels and it's awesome. I would use the tunnels as a bunker/shelter, being that there abandon, mostly underground, thick concrete w/rebar. It would as always depend on the type of tragic event. I myself hope I'm the kind of person that would do want is necessary to survive and protect my loved ones and close friends. A majority of folks have no idea how they would perfom under extreme stress.(Including myself) What really confirms this is dad told me about seeing guys who were hard/bad asses where they were from, breaking down, crying, piss/shiting themselfs. On the other hand a guy you wouldn't even give a second thought about performed almost flawlessly during combat. There is no good/evil when doing what is necessary to survive/protect yourself and loved ones. But for personal gains(wants) as opposed to necessary(needs) those are evils when it involes harming others.

There's safety in numbers so I would join a settlement. Though doing that would mean disease would be more rife and food would be more scarce. Joining a settlement seems the best option for me. I hate the thought of being gang raped too. That would be less likely to happen in a settlement.

As Dee said, the problem with a settlement is that food could become a issue. There are positives and negatives with each option. If I started a settlement, I could never trust anyone. You have the threat of attack from rival factions and the issue of possible mutiny.
