No just the extremism of a particular person's interpretation of a particular religion. It does show however your inability to understand the difference between one person's beliefs and the religion this person may be basing those beliefs on.
You provide an excellent example of someone who has assumed a religion has a particular uniform belief because one person believes it does and you chose to focus only on that one person's beliefs.
Do you really believe all Muslims have sex with dead bodies? Of course you don't. However from what I gather of Camilla Parker Bowels, Prince Charles qualifies as a necrophiliac.
Mika-El, I'm pretty sure that article has quite a few things wrong with it. Earlier I posted information that says that Islam is pretty strict about such things.
As for violence and punishment in the Koran and the Bible, I see a lot of similarities in theme and context. However, I don't rightly think we can say that the laws listed in Numbers, Leviticus and Deuteronomy ONLY apply to Israel, as obviously it talks about slaying OTHER people in other lands.
That said, as AD rightly pointed out, the New Testament is perceived by -I would say probably most- Christians as canceling out the earlier, more "savage" laws.
I would like to point out that although the first books of the Bible are also part of the foundation of Judaism and remain in Jewish law, nobody enforces that. I don't know of any Jews who stone their disobedient sons. I think the majority of Jews are pretty nice and liberal people.
Likewise, I honestly believe that the majority of Muslims don't follow the violence advocated in their book either. As I often say: the moderate Muslims I've known (and they are quite liberal) are very peaceful and gentle people. THEIR religion is one I wish more people could see.
