Never say never, and Chinas army is vast well disciplined, well equipped, and just like the Japanese during WWII will fight with a fanaticism that Western forces don't posses... And I have to agree with Kelly's post I have quoted if China wanted to they could defeat the USA simply by overwhelming force, China is and will continue to expand and it search for natural resources will grow they're already in several African countries, mining like there is no tomorrow, so in 20/40/60 years who knows...
* I use sarcasm on-line because it's easier than driving to your house and punching you in the face.*
leave it to the u.s. to think because we spend more money we must be stronger.....hmmmm......i just dont agree with this article.
The Mathematics of Military Balance | CHINA US Focus
That is at the bottom of my list. They have ICBMs too ya know.
In an invasion on US soil, I think America wins. In an invasion on China or a defense of Japan or South Korea, they would win by overwhelming numbers like before. My grandpa said that it got so bad in Korea the Chinese would climb over their own dead and the US would run out of ammo.
I don't know if I totally agree with that. To play devils advocate and say they did attack. I think it would be a long drawn out war. Perhaps years. With the Chinese taaking ground. I think if the US did eventually win, America would lose several states at least. But I'm not sure if they would win.
bill.zen, a dose of truth!
I have no idea. But the hardest task can be accomplished by the most simplest of ideas.

That would be UGLY!!!! Based on both countries I think if we did go to war it would be more island and sea warfare.
Possiblities of us going to war with them? Pissing them off to much we are arming Taiwan to fight off the Chinese if it has to. China claimed that as there territory and did say there would be reprocussions if we do so.
US to upgrade Taiwan jets, China protestsChina, which claims Taiwan as its territory and has repeatedly warned the United States not to sell weapons, summoned the new US ambassador to Beijing, Gary Locke, and warned of repercussions.
"The wrongdoing by the US side will inevitably undermine bilateral relations as well as exchanges and cooperation in military and security areas," China's vice foreign minister Zhang Zhijun said, according to the official Xinhua news agency.
IMO no war now but in the future it is possible.
I can't see us going to war with China, that would make no sense at all.But if we did don't count the good ol USA out.Americas true military capabilities are top secret as is every other nation.
Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.
