Yeah. Said there was nothing to investigate that had any importance to national security.

Though their civilian science consultant Hynik, went into the project as a skeptic, and left it so disgusted with its conclusions that he founded MUFON to investigate UFO's as a serious phenomina.

The problem with bluebook was that most of the people calling, did so on the weekends. They would discard testimony of sightings that occurred when people had been drinking. And a majority people that go camping or hunting or whatever in remote areas had been Drinking.

http://www.mufon.com/

foundation for the scientific study of ufo's.

J. L. Hynik was a physicist who lectered at universities. He was the only scientist on the team. He was chosen because he was a strong sceptic. At the end of bluebook he was a staunch believer. After the final report of bluebook he stated the BS flag had never been flown so high. He also stated the purpose of blubook was not scientific investigation, but to establish deniability.

He was the first scientist to establish any serious consideration of UFO's. Now deceased.

what is MUFON

Mutual UFO Network

If it's on there, it can be believed. A very thorough group of scientists and physics folks. They will call BS when they see it, but are never quick to say something is real without a lot of proof and evidence. Many folks feel they aren't good for the rest of the "UFO community" due to their lack of jumping on outrageous theories. I like them to be honest. They are a "just the facts" kind of organization. Too bad it makes them very boring.
