I recently saw the movie 'K-Pax' again. My favorite line is...
"You humans. Most of you subscribe to this policy of an eye for an eye, a life for a life, which is known throughout the Universe for its stupidity. Even your Buddha and your Christ had quite a different vision but nobody has paid much attention to them, not even the Buddhists or the Christians. You humans. It's sometimes hard to imagine how you've made it this far." From Alfred Adler: "There is a law that man should love his neighbor as himself. In a few hundred years (or less) it should be as natural to mankind as breathing or the upright gait, but if he does not learn he must perish." |

Makes me think of a statement made at the end of the movie "Starman" with Jeff Bridges... something to the effect of "you earthlings only triumph in tribulation" Anyone here know what the lines really were? Hank THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE |
