Default Nuclear War Begins September 12, 2006

Will these religious type's ever learn

According to a press release issued by The House of Yahweh - theologically a cult of Christianity - nuclear war will begin on September 12, 2006.

Now, before you start packing your china, note the following from the Jan. 10, 2000 issue of the Los Angeles Times:

According to the House of Yahweh, a Christian sect, when Yasir Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin shook hands at the White House on Sept. 13, 1993, they began a seven-year tribulation that will end this Sept. 13 and bring about the end of the world."

Of course failed prophecies seldom discourage certain religious types from trying again. Hence the House of Yahweh has recently rescheduled the beginning of the end of the world for this September 12.

September is going to be a bad month anyway, because another cult - The Lord’s Witnesses and the True Bible Code - has also scheduled a nuclear event:

We now predict a terrorist Nuclear Bomb will hit the UN plaza in Midtown Manhattan on the sabbath of 2006Elul13 (Sundown Friday September 8th to Sundown Saturday September 9th)

Earlier the same group predicted that the UN would take over the world sometime between March 26th and April 24th of 2001, and that a worldwide famine would begin in September that same year.

It should be noted that the group's web site helpfully includes a list of failed prophecies ("mistakes").

Meanwhile, over in Texas (uhuh), the House of Yahweh states

Nuclear war will start September 12, 2006, but that is not the end.

The group’s leader has a much nicer looking web site, with such helpful articles as "Amazing Prophecies Showing The Exact Date When Nuclear War Will Start And Where!"

Today the House of Yahweh also published a Press Release. It reads in part:

Yisrayl Hawkins, well known Bible scholar and author, reports that the Bible predicts the exact date and the location that nuclear war will begin. Hawkins states that the current crisis in the Middle East will go nuclear on September 12, 2006 in the area around the Euphrates River. Calling upon his 50 years of biblical research, Hawkins correlates numerous Bible prophecies with world events to support his claim.

According to Yisrayl Hawkins, the countdown to nuclear war began with the signing of the Oslo accords on the White House lawn on September 13, 1993. He says that the book of Daniel shows that although this is a seven-year agreement, it would take fourteen years to be fully carried out, ending on October 13, 2007. He then cites prophecies in the book of Revelation showing that nuclear war would begin a year, a month and a day prior to the end of the Oslo agreement.

You can also watch Mr. Hawkins make his prediction in this video clip on YouTube.com:

So, September 12th. That still gives you plenty of time to read A Brief History of the Apocalypse - a conpendium of failed doomsday predictions.

    Fen Star -

You are correct in pointing out the absurdity of these groups. However, one day one of these groups will hit the nail right on the head. Does it make them prophets - No way. But, all it takes is one right prediction and the rest wont matter now will it?

    The world will never end.
Unless some fool detonates a 50,00 megaton cobalt cased bomb!!!!!(this was a bomb that the United States and Russia claimed capable of building, during the nuclear scare time back in the 60s)

In reality, a Cobalt-cased nuclear bomb wouldn't be any more powerful than a normal one; the only difference would be that the fallout radiation would remain lethal for several decades, rather than a few months.

Ah, so it rears its head again! When I was a youngster, this same 'prophecy' circulated. The Rapture and 7 Year Tribulation of Hell on Earth were set to begin in the holiest of Jewish months, September. All had been calculated right down to the very hour of our Lord's second coming. The Christian community was up in arms. Revivals were being held to save the unsaved before the coming rapture. Parents, convinced of their impending rapture, kept kids home from school, missed work and began giving items away. It was a crazy time. Even my family, lead in earnest by my Uncle (himself the pastor of a large church), was swept away in the 'rapture' frenzy of this prophecy. Though I was a young child, I was not afraid. I was an ardent student of theological works, especially the Holy Bible. I flat out told my family that they were full of shit. One day, whilst sitting in the living room and listening to the adults talk about the coming rapture and tribulation, I had heard enough. I confronted my uncle and what ensued was not pretty. Eventually, my Uncle and his church convinvced my mother, God love her, that I was under the spell of Satan himself and that she had to let them exorcise me and cast the devil out before it was too late and I missed out on the rapture. As it meant so much to my mother to avail her fears and I was but a child anyway, I agreed to the exorcism. Needless to say, no demon was cast out of me that day and the Rapture never came. I'm not so sure about hell on earth though. Seems we live it day by day.
Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere. -Carl Sagan

It depends on the religion and the degree of liberalism me think's

As long as religion remains about ideas and philosphy, rather than determining how you live your life, its ok.
