religion will go on

If any of you are X-Files fans, there was an epsiode about Scully finding a spacecraft with religious writings on it, saying what we may regard as truth is not the truth at all; we may have messed up some of our ideas. I mean, if we do discover life beyond Earth, religions around the world will be null and void. Why do most of the religions say there are just the Heavens (whatever that is) and the Earth. But no other life forms. Please feel free to debate, for I, myself, am wondering what other believe to be the "truth".
Hi there lostmulder108,
The weird thing about "these people from the sky" was that they couldn't have brought us more religion if they were missionaries. And human minds seem primed for faith, of any kind. It's hard to find a natural living tribe anywhere without some form of religious belief & practice.
So, my position is that as Mankind opens its eyes to Extraterrestrial Life, our religions will go on.
Surely some aliens believe in God too. Our early human ancestors made no greater mistake than mistaking awesome diskriding messengers for gods.
