Recently, I've been noticing that the Greys, the most common type of aliens in sightings it seems, have too many similarities to Humans for it to be coincident. Why am I thinking that it's strange an alien life form is similiar to Earth life? It's in the name- alien.
I doubt that another planet exists that life on it will evolve into human-like bipedal creatures. And intelligent human-like bipedal creatures at that! Alien life would exist on worlds varying differently than our own. Why should they follow the same evolutionary trail to intelligence as Humanity did? Why not have quadrupeds or tripedal creatures become intelligent? Even if their bipeds, why not four arms? Or no arms? Or heads with tentacles?
Instead of Greys being aliens from another world, I kind of think that they might be the future Humans, time traveling. It's entirely possible. Look at Dulce- supposedly, they found a group of Greys living under the ground under the Dulce base, that had lived there for a long time. Why would aliens colonize a world in secret? Why would they contact our governments to experiment on us?
Supposedly their doing a Human-alien hybrid project, the Greys are that is. Supposedly. We all know that two species are unable to interchange as a species may only reproduce with others of it's species. That denies a Human-alien hybrid.
I would also hope the aliens realize that as they developed separate from us, thus having different genes and genomes, possibly even different types of cells and their own alien version of "DNA", a hybrid would be impossible.
Thus, it is possible that the Greys are actually Humans from the future. We're gradually getting weaker and weaker physically. We're slowly eliminating threats to ourselves. We control the climate, thus controlling our evolution. We're polluting like mad, which can cause disease and sickness.
It is very possible that we're slowly but surely evolving into the Greys. Our bodies grow weaker. Our brains grow larger as to multi-task better. Our jaw-muscles shrink, making our chins smaller. Our frames diminish in size. Radiation and pollution causes our skin color to slowly dull into a gray-ish color. Races mix and mingle, causing skin colors to eventually turn into a single color of skin, and we start turning gray.
There is more evidence to support a theory stating the Greys are Humans from the future than they are aliens. We're slowly turning into them. Slowly... Very slowly.
Why would our future selves genetically alter the current us though, as the theories are? Perhaps as Humanity advances, we slowly will loose sexual organs. Radiation and cloning causing masses to become in-fertile, thus meaning to reproduce we must clone ourselves.
Nuclear war leads to the complete inability to sexually reproduce. Each clone is slowly losing genetic data- DNA slowly deteriorates.
Then, a group of Human/Grey scientists invent time-travel. We/they realize that in the past, sexual reproduction was possible. We/they send men and women back to try to cross-breed with our past selves, so that we can regain sexual reproduction and leave cloning.
Success soon happens with some- the government of the future sends more back. Harvesting continues. Soon, the current US government signs a contract with future Greys to experiment with the present Humans to help them regain the ability to reproduce. However, both sides have their own agendas. The future Greys wish to unify the world and prevent the atrocities that led them to the world where there is no sexual reproduction. The US government wishes for them to help them create super-human soldiers, so they can become unstoppable.
Both sides agree- the Greys infiltrate modern society and begin influencing events. Genetic experiments continue. Eventually some guards and Greys feel sorry for the Human prisoners and the "Dulce War" happens- numerous Greys and Humans are killed.
Today, the Greys (Us from the future) continue to influence events in secret, the US continues to attempt to get super-human soldiers.
It all makes sense to me- maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right. It's what I think.
Well, they said the grass is greener, so I thought I'd check it out.
hang on, wouldnt we have to use time travellin ourselvs before any future humans can come from..the future?
That's one idea Chlo... That we can create time portals. We create an outhole, and in the future, we'll be able to come back to that out hole.
There's a lot of problems with that though.
As is there with time travel in general.
Think. If we can go back, and alter the past... Then the butterfly effect would make it so that there are different variables than in the time the person came from. So, the time that they come from would cease to exist. At that point, the alien wouldn't exist to travel back in time. So the event never happened.
My idea behind why Greys look like us?
To me, it's because the human imaginations tends to create things that are pretty much alterations of its self.
From religion to aliens, the pattern repeats. They mostly share a humanoid appearence.

Depends on how time works really... We don't know yet.Originally Posted by Chlo92*

Or, if it doesn't. Then who knows. We'd probably have to figure out how different dimensions actually work. (Remember X,Y,Z are all different dimensions, It might work in the same way)
I somewhat look at time travel like it's shown in the Hitchhiker's Guide series. Time's like a jigsaw puzzle. You can't change the past, because all changes have already happened in the past. Thus, anything you do in the past is not a change and is how time originally flowed. Or at least to you it is.
If Greys are Humans time traveling from the future, obviously their attempts to alter time were unsuccessful. Maybe all they are trying to do is get samples to allow themselves the ability to reproduce sexually again. That would be a worthy thing to try if they can't.
I guess we can't know for sure until they decide to tell us. Who knows when that'll be?
Well, they said the grass is greener, so I thought I'd check it out.
Heh - Time is most deffinitly a Jigsaw.
Thinking of changing the past causes a logic loop... For what you said. If you went back and changed something, you'd most likely have made it so you weren't born, so the change wouldn't happen, in which case you would be born and can make the change. And the loop continues.
We'd have to figure time out ourselves either way sadly, since them telling us would cause the above paradox.
i see both points now, about the loops and about it would already of happened, hang on no wait so they both are the same thing? no i think im lost now. the greys are supposed to be aliens right? but that defeats the purpose of them being us straight away dont it? unless we move to another planet cuz this one is ruined which will be soonish. and our heads are alot different, we have small they have egg heads and big eyes and we have lil eyes, and they r all migets with grey skin are they not? how do we get from us now to that?
getting off the current flow of conversation here for a second and onto the "alien or us" part of the discussion. i think it highly likely that an INTELIGENT alien life form would look similar to us i.e two legs, two arms, one head, two eyes, two ears, a nose, a mouth. as i see it evolution itself would have a very high chance of FORCING any inteligent life to assume our basic form [assuming they are land creatures anyway, sea animals or sky animals could be different]
lets think about a land animal. what does it need? well firstly it needs to eat. everything eats something, it is a requirement of life. to eat if you are macroscopic you will need some kind of mouth, be it a filter like coral and shellfish to a fully developed jaw like humans and snakes. you need to eat, you need a mouth. how many mouths? well a creature could just be an enourmous ball of mouths, but this is unnecesary complexity. evolution will almost always take the simplest path. 6 mouths would allow you to eat 6 different things at once! but you would need six assophaguses, and the necessary tubing and energy and materials required to maintain these 6 mouths and throats would be a serious waste of resources. one mouth is the simplest and most logical choice, and as every creature on earth has one mouth it seems to be the most competitive. therefore we can safely assume our alien creature would have one mouth.
ok so now our creature can eat. munch munch munch. yum yum yum. it has just eaten everything within reach. now it must move or starve. starving seems pretty counter intuitive to survival so our creature needs legs. how many legs? could be two, could be two hundred. however as most creatures on earth have four limbs we can see that four limbs is the most beneficial to survival. two legs work well too, but require far more advanced ballance systems in the body and take far longer to get used too eg an antelope is running within an hour of being born. humans take far far farrrr longer than that, as do apes and kangaroos. however apes, humans and kangaroos still have four limbs, the front two are just specialised for another role. it needs legs, either two or four [again any more than required is simply a waste of resources.] one leg is more efficient yet will be wiped from the table fairly soon when it breaks its single leg and starves to death.
our creature can eat and move. but how can it find its food? it needs senses! sight, smell and hearing are all necesarry. if it is a predator it will use all three to an extent to find its food, if prey it will use smell to find its food, sight to verify the actual food source and hearing to alert it to the approaching predator. for sight it needs eye[s]. one eye will allow you to see an object yet you will have no idea how far away it is. it could be right in front of you or a mile away, you could never tell. two eyes are required for stereoscopic vision which allows you to triangulate the position and thus judge distance, location, size and speed of the object. hearing requires ears. and as with eyes you will require two for the same reason. smell you need one nose, but two nostrils are an advantage [although only one nostril is ever in operation]. two nostrils alows one to be working and the other to rest so as to allow the nasal passage time to clear any build up of dust and mucus.
ok our creature has everything required for survival. it eats, it moves and has a full array of senses. however if it wishes to become intelligent it will require one further change. it will need to be able to use tools. thus it will need opposable thumbs to grasp the object tightly. apes do not have opposable thumbs yet use 'tools' however their tools are limited to unmodified rocks and bits of grass. inteligence requires more than this. you will eventually need to be able to throw an object at another object and actually HIT it. apes can throw things. but only in a general direction, their brains are not hardwired to aim as we do and their hands cannot grasp well enough to release a rock with spin as we do. throwing a rock sounds simple, yet is the SINGLE most important thing that seperates man from beast. as such the creatures forelimbs will need to evolve into arms and hands and the rear limbs will need to evolve to carry the entire weight of the animal constantly. its spine will bend to stand vertically and it will become bipedal.
exact looks and measurements may vary but any inteligent life form from any environment in the universe will need to be a humanoid shape provided that it lives on land. now back to the time travel thing, here we have a junction. the flow of time parts here. will this conversation continue on the path of time theory or alien/human biology and genetics. it is completely possible it will take both and all possible paths in an infinite number of dimentions. which dimention will we follow? and will we all follow the same one? are we one dimention or are we millions of different dimentions that have simply converged on this point and will now disperse our seperate ways?... so many possibilities
