(...) Ufology has always sought for respectability. It has sought scientific respectability and, trying to explain away the absurdly sudden beginning it had in 1947, has also looked for a history going back before that date. The 'foo fighter' material is certainly interesting in this respect, but those sightings bear no real resemblance to the craft of early ufology: I'd suggest that for research purposes it should be regarded as an entirely separate subject from the tinny close-up saucers and Nordic occupants of just a few years later. If my approach to the wartime flying disc material is correct, then 1947 looks more sudden - and inexplicable - than ever, and the contact experience even more isolated. Far from achieving any kind of respectability, by accepting so readily the existence of high-performance wartime German flying discs without, with a handful of honourable exceptions, bothering to make even the simplest of enquiries, ufology has again made itself look amateur, gullible, and easily manipulated. So no change there, then.

I would like to know your thoughts, and opinions as to just how advanced you think the nazi's truly were, or still are...

legion622.....the nazis had some very ingenious, potentially devastating and also a few totally impractical air vehicle designs in the 1930s & 1940s. However, I have not yet seen evidence that they ever had workable "saucer" type aircraft with the capabilities that have been claimed.

IMO....if they had the nazis would have won the war.

    Those are nice pics anyway.

    Cool

yeah... those pictures are from the Finnish movie called Iron Sky. There is one thing in nazis I admire (and for pity´s sake don´t take this the wrong way now) They really did their studies about the past and had more knowledge than most of us do know in this age of fast communication and internet. But yeah all i really wanted to say in this thread was that Iron Sky indeed is a Finnish movie :alienlaugh:

mecha....I understand what you mean....I have found out a few german aircraft designs that are truelly worth admiring and also very glad they never went into production.

lol, I know they are from the movie "Iron Sky" :alienlaugh: ... I originally posted it as a new thread "MOVIE IRON SKY TRAILER, HOW ADVANCED DO YOU THINK THE NAZI'S TRULY WERE, OR STILL ARE" but it was moved here... I just wanted to get thoughts from others as to how far they think the nazi's had truly gotten with their experiments, I am glad to see that people are still willing to post, and help others that they feel may not be as knowledgable without criticizing them in the process... Thanks for the response... Hope to post a few things over the next couple of days, and i'll be sure not to double...

I have this very vague recollection of having seen a documentary or seen video of old film footage depicting a nazi sphere (possibly bell shaped) object floating in an underground bunker.

People have been playing with this lighter then air stuff (where they use a electromagnetic current I think) to lift a light frame. for years and whats not to say that some of these boys given unlimited access to do what they wanted to do could have produced some groundbreaking work/ Work which eventually went to the US and Russia as they raced to sieze the brains behind the war machine fo there own benefit.

What is workable CB? Is it achieving flight? Whose to say that these first successes by the nazis where not then expanded upon like I said above?

Ive heard mention, I cant remember where it may have been in here, that the nazis had just completed their first successfull test flight of what we would term a ufo and that if they could have gotten them into production even at that early stage it would have been a war winner. Unfortunately, well fortunately I would guess would be the better choice, the allies where to advanced and it never got built.

I dont have a real vested interest in this but I do think it is possible that they where more advanced then what has been revealed.

Yes this is all real, Nazi's used flying saucers for air craft because flying saucers don't need a runway.

hazard....I'm not sure if it was workable....I was referring to more conventional aircraft. I may have heard of the experiment you are speaking of....but I questioned the source when I heard it. I've never been able to verify it.

I was referring to the flying wing fighter which used stealth technology....(and also resembled what Ken Arnold saw near Mt Rainier in June 1947)....a vertical take-off aircraft similar to the V22 Osprey....a flying wing bomber that could carry 22 tons of bombs nearly 10,000 miles.....an aircraft similar to the U2 spyplane....only with a rocket engine . The most interesting one...which I think was not practical.....was a suborbital bomber which could drop an 6 ton bomb from 200,000 feet going 13,000 mph. There were also quite lethal....but rather mundane designs that could have changed the outcome of the war.

I have not found any verification about the nazis having working saucers in the laboratory...much less in production....as I said before if they had any such thing capable of what I've heard germany would have won the war.
