I actually saw the exact same thing here in Finland. A orange light was stationary in the sky and then dimmed slowly until there was nothing. I was actually stunned and i have no idea what was up there.....

Just the other day I was out horseback riding on a deserted dirt road known as a "the wildlife rufuge road" around here. Its always deserted except for the lone fisher or horseback rider, and I happened to be out on it around 8 pm. The horse was plodding along and I began to get the feeling of "you are not alone here". I turned around to see what might be there and all I saw was two orange lights stacked upon each other as if they were 2 street lights ( they were an orange color) . I thought hmmmm I have never been out here at night so maybe its just a telephone tower i never noticed or maybe lights to warn barges ( its a road next to water) i really didn't think a lot about it so i turned around, and the horse contined walking. I decided to take a short cut through a field that led up to a large hill. As i reached the top I turned around to watch the light to see what it truly was, and what i saw almost knocked me off my horse. There was only one light left and it glowed like a planet. However it was stationary in the sky, leaving out possiblities for it to be a plane, helicopter or satelite, becuase it it was totally stationary. It was the color of a streetlight if not oranger. As I watched I realized what I was seeing was like nothing i have ever seen before. Eventually it started to dim as if a light bulb was going out. It wasn't just "poof" gone! It was a gradual dimming until there was nothing left at all. I stayed a few more minutes trying to see if i would see any aircraft moving around, but I saw Absolutely NOTHING it was gone gone gone. I would like to have some feedback if any one here has ever seen anything like a orange streetlight stationary in teh sky. I was not a believer until this, but this certainly convinces me.

How big was the spot in the sky???

It was large, and the street light description fits t in more than one way. it was about thatsize, but it wasn't a streetlight for sure.0]
I would also like to add that the day after it happened i told a friend about becuase her father works near the road at a tva plant. She has always lived near the area, and what she said chilled my blood. According to her the "old timers" who have worked at this pant all their life say thay see the things all the time similar to what i saw. Lights in the sky that can't be explained. They are so used to it they have their own theories about what the aliens want. According to their great ideas the ufos come there to suck power off this electricity plant. This plant supplies power to most of tennessee, and its definitely well-known and powerful. Can anyone tell me why these ufos are soo often seen near a power plant????? Any theories???? I know I saw something unexplainable without a doubt.I just woud like to know what.
Could have been ball lightning or St. Elmo's fire. Sounds kinda like the Brown Mountain Lights to me.
well I don't know alot about natural lights, except they are random and they usually do not look like orange stars. I wasn't a believer till now, becuase I have tried to figure out what it was all week i keep ending up in a dead end. It had to be a ufo.oh And lighting doesn't stay in the sky minutes at atime last time i looked.
