Interesting story regardless.
Anybody knows more about this treaty? In 1953 astronomers discovered large objects in space which were moving toward earth. At first they believed they were asteroids, but later evidence proved the objects could only be spaceships. Project Sigma and Project Plato intercepted alien radio communication and using the computer binary language, was able to arrange a landing that resulted in face-to-face contact with alien beings from another planet. Meanwhile, a race of human-looking aliens contacted the U.S. Government, warning us that the aliens orbiting the equator were hostile beings from Orion. These human-type aliens demanded we dismantle and destroy our nuclear weapons, that we were on a path of self-destruction and we must stop killing each other, stop polluting the earth, stop raping the earths natural resources and learn to live in harmony with one another. President Eisenhower rejected these demands.
Later in 1954, the race of aliens, known as Greys, from Zeta Reticuli area in space, who had been orbiting the equator, landed at Holloman Air Force Base. they stated their planet was dying and needed quarters on earth to conduct genetic experiments that might allow their race to survive; this in exchange for certain technology. President Eisenhower met with the aliens and a formal treaty was signed [Greada treaty]. The treaty stated the aliens would not interfere in our affairs and we would not interfere in theirs. We would keep their presence on earth secret; they would furnish us with advanced technology. They could abduct humans on a limited basis for the purpose of medical examination and monitoring, with the stipulation that the humans would not be harmed, would be returned to their point of abduction, that the humans have no memory of the event. It was also agreed the alien bases would be constructed underground, beneath Indian reservations in the 4 corners area of Utah, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. Another was to be constructed in Nevada in the area known as S-4, about 7 miles south of area 51, known as 'Dreamland'..
What are the chances to be real?
Interesting story regardless.
Good plot for a movie
I came, i saw, i left.
Just to bad it didn't happen..... Use logic on this for a second, why the hell would aliens who have much better things to do, like survive the end of the universe, want with a species that can't stop aiming their guns at themselves?
The only time aliens are gonna come here is when they want something that benefits them..... And almost everything that benefits them the most involves extinguishing humanity since we are nothing more than simply 'in the way'. I'm not to worried about that though because the singularity is gonna swallow us soon and I believe if aliens do not invade Earth by this point, our technology may have advanced enough on it's own to mount an effective defense.
I dunno about that treaty, but I have read the story before. The Greys were also suppose to supply the government with a list of those individuals that would be abducted. That did not happen and the Greys did not meet their end of the agreement.
Dunno what to think. I consider it a possibility. It would help explain a lot, certainly doesn't make it true though.
My gut feeling says it is partly true...
In search of the real truth.
I think science fiction has it all wrong...... The universe is a cold and unforgiving place, finite, full of life and again due to the way life forms and becomes more advanced. Also a very hostile place..... I think we are lucky to be in the backwoods of our Galaxy and not in a more populated region of space.
If the evolutionary process of Earth is any indication and I think it is. Than all alien life that can get here would either fly by or figure out the best way to eliminate the competition. Altruism is a trait that will be shared among all higher life forms, but that altruism is directed at their survival as our altruism is directed at ours..... To put it simply, the only reason why we aren't hastily destroying other species out there is because we can't. We are as of right now, literally helpless to any kind of threat from another world and that is science fact.
If aliens are visiting us and people are seeing UFO's...... Than people should be at least a little concerned with their motives. Visibly flying around like you don't care and interfering with the lives of this planets inhabitants would be a sign of power and might. Such a disregard for the natives here really shows that they don't care for us or about us. It also show arrogance too..... Flying around our skies like they do also tells me that they aren't very worried about our defenses either.
I predict if aliens came here in force, humanity would be completely wiped out very quickly...... Let's be honest for a second, they won't just show up and open fire, They will use science based weapons to eliminate us..... Perhaps they could create a virus spread by the avian life here to spread to humans with a high kill rate, nano technologies, EMP devices..... You could drop huge objects from space into the oceans of the Earth and wipe out all coastal regions instantly. Science fiction always displays the very human 'shock and awe' scenario..... There are so many ways to kill us without even having to set foot here. If aliens show up, we are totally screwed and there is nothing we can do do about it.
The problem with that train of thought is all one way or all the other. As you pointed out, either they sail past or drop in to kill and conquer. Technology capable of hurtling them acroos the galaxy is of an order where by I would expect other technologies would also be vastly ahead of ours. So any raw materials, metals ores, minerals water or any element and substance could be easily manufactured by transmutation or by some other means. Same goes for food or anything else. So it becomes a situation where by we would have nothing they could want. Except to perhaps learn about us and catalogue us. Also since it is not unreasonable to assume that we may very well have been visited since the dawn of man, that no such hostility toward us exist. I will not rule out that there may be such hostile species out in the cosmos somewhere. I believe they are in a great minority though...and put their own mortality at great risk.

What you have is wishful thinking, aliens likely have never been here and there is no proof to say otherwise. I think people hope for the altruistic aliens to come here and give us near magical technologies..... It won't happen.
Blind hope and wishful thinking aren't a good thing when discussing a likely hostile force...... Humanity is hostile and I think we are all unqualified to discuss what aliens may or may not have technologically if it doesn't exist already here, because we simply don't know. What we do know is how nature works and we know history. Everytime a more advanced civilization meets a less advanced one, the more advanced destroys the lesser. We also know through studying biology that plants and animals all compete for the same space, food and other resources like the sun.
Even if you could make your own elements.... You still need matter to make it happen. Since it is likely that all the smartest things in the universe are mechanical and technological as opposed to biological. They would be competing for all the matter in the universe to convert over to processing power. The most advanced aliens won't even have civilizations, just minds on the order of trillions of times humanities collective consciousness and more. I really think people psychologically can't handle that man is really a small fish in a huge ocean of sharks.
At some point if we live long enough, we will find this out the hard way I think.
